At least, I want to see 128 as well.

Battlefield 2 was one of the best multiplayer games ever, so i really really hope they won't dumb down the scale just so they can fit them on consoles.

Great news!

I'm happy it's so close to release that they're talking beta already. Plus it's great it's coming to consoles.

No matter what the haters said about dumbing down and console adaptation I think Bad Company 2 was awesome on PC.

The main thing BC2 lacked was big maps and jets. But thats perfectly doable on consoles too.

I wouldn't be so sure about on consoles.  The thing that is limiting map size is to do with vehicles mainly, Sony and MS emplace bandwidth limits that games are not allowed to exceed in order to run, apparently vehicles use a lot of bandwidth, the problem with large maps is you need more vehicles in order to keep things going smoothly (no one wants to run for 60 seconds on foot to get to nearest base), but then the vehicle problem hits.

Anyway, I'm not forking out on MoH for this, as much a BF fan that I am.  Pre-orders of BF3 will probably include beta access too.

Now you make me depressed.

Hopefully though they'll allow the PC version to have more players and in that way still allow the maps to remain big. Like Enemy Territory: Quake Wars has quite large maps, but the PC version supports 32 players while console versions are restricted to 16. So there's methods to decrease bandwith pressure.

And didn't older Battlefields have different map sizes dependent on the number of players? Like a 16 player Coral Sea is smaller than the 64 player version? Or am I making things up again?

Yes, beginning with Battlefield 2. Actually the method used was that there was a huge map which was fully available to 64 players, partially limited to 32 players and even more limited to 16 players. Same map, just limitations on the battle area. I think.

As much I like shit coming onto my console, eh, give PC guys a break. They've been waiting for this game, so DICE should properly deliver.

Sucks when PC games get dumbed down for consoles.

I hear you, the more the merrier.  I'm a huge BF fan, but it will take a lot of convincing for me to buy another Battlefield game that is limited to 24 players.

correction:it's coming too some consoles.
