a) Really? The name of this chain?

b) ENCOURAGED. "Hey, guys, it would be nice if you could get 10 pre-orders a day". Yes, that would be nice indeed. Doesn't mean this is any sort of projection or evidence.

Sources says they expect advance orders to topple half a million in the UK by launch.

Here we are with "sources" again. These guys are worse than VG247. For all we know, the "sources" are Pachter and Wedbush Morgan.

Pretty much this, seeing the title it seemed Kinect is sellink like hotcakes now, while it is increasing decently its number of preorders in some stores. Really, It could do even better than this, but it could do also worse. It would be more important to know how much of this preorders are bundles with a console IMO.

based on how the 360s is selling in the uk, this figure of potential sales seem very possibly. funny how many ppl are doubting this knowing the uk's stance on the 360 system. i forsee alot of ppl eating crow this holiday for sure.

Actually, MCV used to be a DVD, Videogame chain themselves. 

They have always been a reliable source for the UK. Anyone who lives here would know that.

Well, I live in the UK. I know MCV is a DVD and video game chain. That doesn't make them a reliable source, especially when their sources are nameless and refuse to provide concrete numbers. If you look at it, it's quite a well written article, because in a good six paragraphs, it gives a sense of positivity regarding Kinect without actually saying anything.

I'm not saying Kinect won't sell huge numbers. I'm saying that this isn't evidence that it will.

Apart from always showing themselves to be reliable? But because they paint a rosey pic for Kinect they are all of a sudden 'not' reliable. 

MCV = understandably reliable, and there is no reason to not trust them.

I remember when they reported the 360 was going double PS3 numbers last holidays, very reliable indeed. Kinect doing well is fine, but I dont't expect these crazy numbers people think is going to happen.

ioi et al are tracking Kinect and Move pre-orders. So it will be interesting to see what numbers they come up with for Kinect.

It had better be close to the ball park number quoted here, or I predict predictions of meltdowns.

It did do double the PS3. In UK. They only ever refer to UK.
