Forums - Sony - Sony Announces Q1 Results (PS3 is at 38.1 million) - Net income is $289 mln

I suspect that christmas lineup for sony might look like this:

250$ 160gb slim

300$ 160gb slim GT5 bundle

350$ 160 gb move bundle

and 50$ for 320gb versions of those.

As for ps3 vs x360 i won't comment as every seasoned member knows VGC thinks every retailer belives he won't be safe unless he has 2 ps3 on the shelf for each x360 ;)

It's a shame that Networked Services is still losing money, but it's much better than they did last year, so this is good.

I think PS3 is undertracked here by atleast 1 million units.Don't give me shipped VS sold casue i know all that.

Wouldn't surprise me, remember last NPD ps3 was reported to sold 304k which is fairly more than what VGC have but I didn't see any ajustments at all.

We're going to see a lot of numbers complaining very very soon.

Week ending 03 July

360 Shipped -  41.7          360 Sold -  40.8          Difference -  0.9

PS3 Shipped -  38.1           PS3 Sold -  35.8          Difference -  2.3

                Gap -  3.6                     Gap -  5.0

Some rough numbers.  I rounded up/down.  The difference is where the shit will hit the fan and spray around the room.  Everyone in the room will proceed to puke on everyone else, ruining the cake.

I have my own opinion but i'll keep it to myself.  Brace for impact!

Agreed, I have my own opinion and it's the same opinion I have on the GTAIV shipped numbers from Take 2 vs sold numbers from VGC. I'll keep it to myself as well.

One can make a good assumption that the games division is making money but the network division as a whole is losing money.

Where do we see the gap being end of Next Q??

Sony increased over last Q by 200k, perhaps pent up demand from retailers from these supposed shortages they were having.

I see PS3 at 2.0, a slight decrease but Japan keep it high, I expect 360 to get a 1-2 million lead

The 360 will ship more than 1.5 million, but that has nothing to do with the amount of shipped PS3's and it seems  MS is not shipping enough for demands anyway.

So actual gap down to 3.6 million between PS3 and 360. PS3 is another price cut away from taking over, and 360 has been at 199$ in USA and 150€ in last couple of years.

No doubt what so ever. Xbox 360 have 3 advantges over PS3.

1. Piracy

2. Red Light

3. Low Price

And still PS3 keep outselling it, 1.5 m vs 2.4 m.
