I really don't see the appeal in a device which requires you to type on the screen.  I would have a hard time writing a paper on such a device, nevermind playing a game or editing music or anything i can use my desktop for.  If I wanted to go portable I'd go with a powerful laptop, but to each his own.

Well, you're right about typing. For serious typing, you need to either use an external keyboard or, yeah, get a laptop. The iPad does a pretty good job for unserious typing, once you get used to it.

But, oh, how wrong you are about making music:

I'm quite impressed, I didn't think it could handle that.  The KORG drum machine app looks like fun, but how much does it cost?

The KORG app is $10, StudioTrack is $40, and iSequence is $15.

There's a ton of other music creation apps, though KORG is certainly the most popular. Average price seems to be about $10. They make me wish that I was more musical (and that I had an iPad).

So you can agree ots worth the cost? I ws thinking to get one, but it is to expensive, it is reallu usefull or worth it?

Well it depends, like anything it depends on how you'd use it and what you like to do. For me its perfect because I don't have a laptop/netbook and I want a platform to control my home automation im installing and I want a portable media and book player.

So far I've found it has:

  • Great utility given the number and types of apps.
  • Decent games.
  • Excellent media/movie/book player and I'll read comics on it too since I would never be seen dead in a comic store.
  • Awesome portable browsing, especially with it propped up on your knee.
  • Fits 80% of what a netbook does and does it better, but does the other 20% worse, so things like text input and file storage etc.

how is the ipod nana aka ipod touch? theyre 2 different things

I bought the iPad 64Gig 3G when it launched. I took it to New Zealand the next day. In fact, I might have been the first person in New Zealand with a 3G ipad. From the time it launched in the US, only about 1,000 people could have beat me there (three flights before mine).

Anyway, I love it. I use it every day. My wife took her laptop with us, and I left my laptop at home.

Netflix streamed on it from 3G looks great. So does Hulu, but not about to pay 10 bucks a month for it. I also use EyeTV, so from anyone I have an internet connection, I can watch live TV from my house, or anything I have recorded.

It's a great device. Oh, and I never put it in a case. I just skinned it so it won't scratch (and it's less slippery) and use it as is. Makes it very easy to use with one hand.

Only thing that sucks about it, is I also have an iPhone 4. With the screen on that, and iOS 4.0, the iPad already feels a little outdated. Putting iOS4.0 in it when it comes out with help.

Yeah I skinned mine and stuck a screen protector onto it. The screen protector is probably not worth it, it probably gathers finger-prints better than the original screen but its my anal side telling me that I need one. In any case it goes with my home theatre stuff and I have a bad habit of grabbing it with my greasy fingers.

Im glad to see you like it too. I find it strange the level of hate Apple seems to get over the internet. I don't see any reason why people ought to hate them if their only crime seems to be that they are 'overpriced' considering there are a lot of other criminals like that which don't get called out on it.

Congrats! Apple makes some really cool stuff love my ipod touch, Might get a ipad in the future.
