Comparing skills across two different games is the only way this can work. Ryu Hayabusa's greater speed, magic, and weapon skills would eat Kratos alive.

If you don't have any experience with Ninja Gaiden, you don't have a lot of room in this debate...

Listen, Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden are really different from God of War and Dante's Inferno. Bayo and NG are much more technical and in some ways more frenetic than GoW and DI. They don't play much alike. If you want a game that play like God of War, get Dante's Infernon.

Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden II (or Sigma and Sigma II, I guess, though the originals were superior in both cases by all accounts) are abut as long as God of War or Bayonetta, depending on your skill. Ninja Gaiden games are also easily the hardest in that list, and Master Ninja makes even Chaos Mode look like a walk in the park. But, again, that only olds for th Xbox versions of those games, I can't speak for the PS3 versions.

To remain on topic: Ryu Hayabusa would kick Kratos's ass.

How do Bayo and NG compare to DMC3 ?

Ryu Hayabusa's greater speed - Hermes' Boots ?

magic - NG must have some pretty insane magic then

weapon skills - Highly debatable.

would eat Kratos alive. - No.

In tterms of what? Violence? Difficulty? Combo-wise? Technicality?

Hermes Boots don't grant increased general speed, they just let Kratos charge. Not useful in general combat, especially when they take time to charge up and can easily be seen coming. Ryu is much more agile and there's nothing in any of the four God of War games I've played that would match up. Kratos can't match Ryu's speed, period.

And yes, some of the magic is pretty insane. My favorite spell is from the second game - it's a tornado of varying air pressures that creates vacuum blades - unblockable, renders armor meaningless, and slices most enemies into half a dozen pieces or more.

It's not debatable. Ryu kills more enemies more violently with more weapons more quickly than Kratos does. He can block bullets from assault rifles with a sword. This is not up for debate.

You really have no experience with Ryu - you've got no leverage in this argument whatsoever.

Here's the move Khuutra was alluding to: http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/686645/ninja-gaiden-ii/images/fable-2-20080513084938313.html?page=mediaFull

I've gotta go with Ryu simply based on their fighting styles. Kratos is more powerful and he has some pretty nifty items like the wings and boots. However, his fighting style is totally offensive and he's a pretty brutish guy that lacks speed and focuses on straight forward attack. Even the boots take time to become effective. Ryu is a master ninja who's entire training is based around evasion and silent but deadly attack. This alone puts Kratos at a massive disadvantage. Add to that a plethora of different types of weapons (big and small, fast and slow, far and close), crazy magic spells (as above) that make him invincible when cast, and the backing of the CIA (:P), Ryu's got this fight in the bag.

As for the difficulty of Ninja Gaiden series (speaking from experience with the Xbox versions), I had more trouble with NG2 on Normal than I'm having with GOW 3 on Titan.

Kratos, since my image of ninjas has been ruined by narutards :x

Kratos is the one I would less want coming after me, but that's primarily because being illed by him would be one of the more horrible deaths you can experience.

As for who would kick whose ass? Probably Ryu. Hope won't avail Kratos against Ryu, and when it's down to their base magic vs. magic and skill vs. skill, Ryu borders on unstoppable.

Yeah. Ryu would take this every day of the week.

Having an opinion that doesn't agree with mine means I am sexy and you pale in comparison.

I really don't think comparing magic and skill across 2 completely different style slashers makes sense.

And I thought I'd discuss Ninja Gaiden a bit. My experience with NG was limited to the NGS demo, which I hated because of "meh"ish jumping mechanics and the horrible camera.

I "might" get a game as a gift, and I'm slasher hungry at the moment and debating whether to ask for Dante's Inferno, Bayonetta OR NGS2. (keyword here is might)

So, is it harder than God of War on very hard ? (I'm a completionist, and I like to platinum all my games) and how long is it compared to the other 2 ?

Did you really just try to discredit someone's arguement by saying they've only played GOW I and then say you've only played the Ninja Gaiden demo?

Kratos is slow compared Ryu and Ryu can go anywhere with rediculous speed.  Ryu can easily kill a Titan because he can get inside a Titan much more easily than Kratoes cause Ryu is a fast ninja.  I think Ryu will just screw with Kratos until he gets tired and then chop him in two and then follow Kratos to hell and kill him again.

Ryu actually does the exact same thing in the very beginning of Ninja Gaiden.

And even if he keeps coming back, he still loses that fight.

so both are already dead. neither can be killed and it's a draw.
