Looks like Capcom went first in sending out their side of the Street Fighter X Tekken media. As detailed in our earlier post, Capcom’s developing Street Fighter X Tekken while Namco Bandai’s working on Tekken X Street Fighter.
Street Fighter X Tekken is in development for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It’ll utilizing the Super Street Fighter IV engine. Tekken characters have been re-imagined into the Super Street Fighter IV watercolor style, although, still retain their signature moves.
A new Tag Team Combat mode will be available in addition to Versus and Training modes. Capcom promises it’ll “make the fighting experience more in-depth and enjoyable”. In Tag Team Combat, players select two fighters that will help deliver knockout assists and special combos.
“This is history we’re making,” said producer Yoshinori Ono. “Two fighting games that have rivalled each other are finally standing on the same stage. This isn’t just a showdown between Tekken and Street Fighter, but a decisive battle for Capcom and Namco Bandai Games. So I’m going to give it my all.”
Release date is still TBA.
