Forums - Sony - PS3 exclusives lacking in offline multiplayer?

If you're talking about split screen offline campaigns? I agree PS3 is lacking those.  Although there are plenty of exclusive offline multiplayer games.

LittleBigPlanet
Motorstorm 2
Modnation Racers
Wipeout HD
Super Stardust HD
Resistance
Warhawk (though you do have to be signed in, you can still play local 4 player split screen)

soon to have: Gran Turismo 5 and Twisted Metal

You could argue that the 360 doesn't have as many good single player campaigns as PS3 games especially compared to Uncharted 2, GOW 3, and MGS4. Though I know what everyone means; the split screen campaign is really fun.

Not knowing the PS3 library as well as you guys sort of verify my belief that there aren't too many titles that support 4-player offline play.  This would be nice and will surely help.  I am in more favor of the story driven single player experience, but nothing wrong with having a few more options for everyone else.

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

I'd hug my Wii too if it actually offered quality multiplayer games.

The 360 is my console of choice for multiplayer. Kinect should fill the gap for those who actually care about party games.

Yes. Wii offers no quality multiplayer games. Not a single one. *raises eyebrow*

Anywho, I really haven't thought about this "issue" (whether or not it's an issue is up to what type of gamer you are I suppose) before. It's hard to think of Halo without Halo parties or Wii without its plethora of local multiplayer games... but with PS3, with the exception of LBP and ModNation (and even those are more focused on the online sharing aspect), there's really not a big focus on the local scene right now. Although with Move coming along, I'm sure that'll change pretty soon when they really push the product and its games.

That why I have a Wii ;)

But you should try Buzz! So much fun with friends!

Well other than a few Mario titles there are few quality multiplayer games. Unless you actually enjoy party games, the 360 is definitely a better choice for multiplayer gaming. Both offline and online.

The OP has a point, I've always thought the same. Besides LBP, I can't really think of another great game that offers me both SP and MP offline experience.

I agree this has been my longest and one of my only complaints with th ps3.... I love playing resistance fall of man still to this day while the second collects dust simply because I can play it with my buddy on the couch beside me.

Little Big Planet possible my favorite game of this gen and my most played because I can play it with not only my hardcore gaming friends but also my girlfriend and her buds and still have a good time :)

Fat princess was patched to add in local multiplayer and its a hellova alot more fun now, I figured I'd mention it since no one else above me has yet i strongly recommened it ;)

Don't get my wrong I enjoyed uncharted 2 as much as the next guy but it would have been pretty sweet to play it with a friend beside me playing as cloe or someone.

Didn't developers back in the day just dumb down the graphics when you played split screen? why couldnt insomniac do that with the second resistance, or the killzone people do it with killzone 2? I've been wondering this for a while now so if anyone knows why please share haha :)
