Having been a PC and Console gamer since the 1980s I can honestly say that anyone who claims the PC is superior is just delusional. PC gaming is too expensive and there is a lot of time wasted installing and uninstalling games and patching and maintaining the system that takes away from game-play time.
The cost one is dependant on strategy because people will either regularly spend as much as a console to upgrade their system to play games, or periodically spend far more on a new system, and either way the privilege of playing games on the PC typically costs an order of magnitude more than console hardware.
The time one is much more frustrating at this point in my life, because you finally get the game you desire to play and have a couple hours free to play it and you spend that time switching discs to install a game to your hard-drive.
This isn’t to say that PC gaming is bad, but for every advantage PC gaming has there is an equal or greater disadvantage; and the disadvantage prevents it from being as popular or enjoyable (to most people) as console gaming.

Wait what? It is very cheap to make a PC that is as good as a console and for about $400 you can get a PC that is more powerful than either PLUS it does EVERYTHING. Movies, online, web, design, programming, gaming, etc. etc. etc. I am also fairly sure that even if you do not peruse the deals on PC games that are ALL over the place (There was an SCII deal where you could get the game fro $45 not $60 just a day ago, and that game hasn't even released yet). You will basically pay off the difference in 20 games or so. I believe I got 23 games for $50 once, which included Bioshock, BS2, Civ 4 complete, XCOM, and some other greeat games. After doing some math, I think I saved closed to $200 on it. That's right, $200. If you had bought the Square Enix pack when it was on sale 3 weeks ago you woudl have saved $450. Let that sink in. You could have saved enough money to buy a whole brand new console if you had gotten that deal. By the time I decide to spend an order of a magnitude more than a console on my PC again it will have been fully paid off.
Also, when was the last time you booted up your PS3 or 360? I distinctly remember installing games, patching games, installing systmes updates and maintaining the console. I also distinctly remember RRODs, and YLODs happening. At least when I build my own system I won't design it for liquid cooling and then decide to pull out because of expenses later (like MS did with the 360) or decide to use some piece of shit thermal paste so that my CPU breaks (a la the PS3).
Also, the fact you said "you spend that time switching discs" completely invalidates your opinoin on anything. I don't think I have had to "switch discs" when playing on a PC since 2003 for UT2003. So maybe all your "experience" in this field is severely lacking because you seem to be way out of touch with how things stand with the PC.
