In any case this just a a thought I had on this matter. 

I wouldn't rule out a second big bang but there are a lot of things that will probably get us first. Namely us. Or that supermassive blackhole at the center of our Galaxy gobbling up stars. Boo!

In 2012 Duke Nukem Forever will be released and it'll open a portal to Hell because someone will try to play it on a 486/66. The Earth will be a wreck because a world where Duke Nukem Forever is playable is inconceivable.
