Still deciding whether to get the full game. If it was 800 points would already have it but everyone keeps saying its so short which is putting me off at 1200 points. Main sticking point is how replay-able it is, what has everyone else found?

If you buy 3 of these "summer of arcade" games for 1200 MS by end of august will give you 400 pts back by end of september.

Hydro Thunder, CAsltevania, Limbo, Tomb Raider... picking 3 you like should be easy.

Thats the thing which I brought up in an earlier post, Im not a big arcade person (put it this way, I only have 1 other arcade game). I will be getting one at the most, which would have to be my favourite.

Heres how I rate them:

1. Limbo

2. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

3. Castlevania

4. Hydro Thunder Hurricane

5. Monday Night Combat

In fact, the bottom two games probably sum up why I dont really do arcade games, they just dont appeal to me. Limbo is one of a very small selection that does.

I think the bottom 2 are safe bets to be fun games, but nothing special.

Tomb Raider and Castlevania have awesome potential...but can also end up being really bad. Like TMNT last year...

Limbo is the only game which has the "must play" seal of approval. Which is a shame considering that Summer of Arcade of 2008 had Geometry wars, Castle crashers and Braid, all of which are "must plays".

@disolitude, exactly and I'm sure we could think of tons more.

Personally I've already played over 3 hours and still have a little bit to go.  If you count time from dying and restarting, or time spent trying to figure out the tougher puzzles, I think it could easily go 4-5 hours.  Since there isn't an ingame clock its hard to tell, and the game has a really wierd way of making you feel like not much time has passed at all till you look at the clock and realize you've been playing for 2 hours straight.

I'm actually excited for Hydro Thunder Hurricane moreso than any of the other three titles coming after it. It seems like the perfect summer game, and I need something for my multiplayer fix as Gears of War 2 has been annoying me for awhile.

@ Machina- Good to hear that there's a lot of value. I'm assuming the game has a lengthy championship mode? Or is there more than just that?

Unofficially, Shank is releasing the week after the last SoA game, so I count it as extended play

and it'll be the second highest rated of the lot, you'll see!

I think Defense Grid was in the same spot last year, wasn't it? There've been good games on both sides of Summer of Arcade for the past couple of years now.

Do they actually say which of the Summer of Arcade titles sell the most. Having a look Id assume it was Castle Crashers in 2008 and either Trials HD or Shadow Complex in 2009 (although Trials clearly had the most longevity). Out of this year's 5 does everyone think Limbo will sell the most or not?

if Monday Night Combat is any good, then i would say that it will sell the most.

Best data we have.

I think SoA titles do the best sales wise cos ... well they're the best!!! (Might not be obvious to some )
