Final Fantasy XIII hitting Xbox 360 in Japan?

When Final Fantasy XIII was announced for Xbox 360, Square Enix made it clear that it would be released on the Microsoft console in the west, but still stay a PlayStation 3 exclusive in Japan.

About two months after the game went multiplatform, Microsoft Taiwan said there would be an Asian Xbox 360 version, however, they later retracted those statements due to the game being published by SCE Asia.

Today, a new list of achievements for Final Fantasy XIII has appeared on Xbox.com’s Japanese site – all localized into the language. The list appears shorter than the achievement list in the west.

If I didn’t know any better, I’d say the Xbox 360 version is coming to Japan. It’s all rumor until it’s confirmed, though. We’ll keep you updated.

Stay tuned.

Thanks, Kotaku and tipster Zella.

Maybe this generation should be labeled the end of third party exclusives lol. Or broken promesis.

I find it harder and harder to belive that vs XIII will remain exclusive.  SE going as far as release this on japanese 360's...after the PS version already came out. If there going that far there goal a being a polymorphic company why would they keep VS exclusive?

Unless Sony paid them something for it (which in all likelyhood would NEVER happen)

As far as we know, there is no extra content or anything to "accompany" this release.  They cannot be of the opinion that it will do really well....can they?

Listen though..anybody could tell of the bat that this version will most likely flop. Im sure SE is releasing this with the mindset it's not gonna do well, but its not about that I think iyts more about how much can they squeeze out of this release.

Its funny because ppl always  say thay that if the PS3 version sells a shit load then SE wont have to worry about porting it, but I see it a different way the more PS3 version sells alone the higher the chances of SE porting it to squeeze that last bit out of a new fanbase...pretty smart idea to

- Pretend its exclusive

- let SONY fanboys hype it to hell

- sells 3mill p

- squeeze thae last bi out by release on 360

It won't sell that well since it's not a simultaneous release. That said, they don't have to do any localization work. In other words, SE is going to profit off of whatever they sell.

They should release it. Extra money for Square anyways. Sony got it in JPN for about a year. Seems fair to me.

Probably timed exclusivity in Japan.

I just want an International version. Come on Square Enix, don't break tradition. So many things can be improved and added (I enjoyed the game but upon hearing that there was a handful of removed content, it reallymade me wonder what the game could have been..)

This is the true definition of owning.

I'd like to see an international version too even if it is multiplat. SE would be dumb not doing it after seeing how much RE5 and MGS4 sold after re-releases.
