I'm ready to predict:

On Jan 1st 2011 VGC will have the 360 at:

48,300,000

Meaning it will have had its best year posting just shy of 12m.

I might be miles off, but I thought id get an early prediction in for the hell of it.

wow thats really pushing it there kowenicki 7M from now till end of 2010

god it did 6.5M last year in the same time

So with a redesign, its marquee exclusive series and Kinect launching, it pushing it to think it can sell 500k more than last year?

Clearly missed BHR's sarcasm.

Anyway, I expect the 360 to post a 1mil week in December, for sure.

To be fair that sarcasm may have been easy to miss in a climate where Pachter and our own The Source are currently predicting a worse second half for the 360 this year than last.

Both of whom keep on using trends that this generation consistantly bucks... there hasn't been a generation like this ever so pointing to trends only gets you part way there... I think that the bigger picture no one has a clue how sticky the Move is going to be considering many of the games that use it will be generally better on a standard controller.  And how will Kinect effect sales?  With Microsoft stagering everything out pretty even this year we may see some more trend bucking effects and there is the GT effect and how it will do and it's effect on the PS3's holiday sales in Europe especially.

This is clearly going to be 360's peak year but I think the overall picture at the moment isn't entirely clear. I strongly suspect we've been overtracking the 360 in EMEAA since the slim launch if this is to be believed:

Although I have my suspicions since he doesn't site a source. And I would suspect with a PS3 price cut in PAL 360 would have a lot of trouble retaining it's current momentum in Europe. I would predict that it will beat 2008 by about 500k.

"Italian Hardware in the X360 Slim'month (July):"

Italian numbers and Slim only cames out in 19 July or So so 10 days in the market or SO! You cant judge things for ONE MARKET!

So no one should seriously pay attention to ur fanboys comments...

have a nice day.

Perhaps if you had actually read my comment you'd see that I said 'IF this is to believed' and I'm not entirely convinced that they're real since there's no source. It's only one market but it could be indicative of the overall trend. Italy is actually one of 360's bigger markets in Europe marketshare-wise (about 30%).

1st give me a source than we talk... in UK those guys who report the numbers said that 360s sold like Xbox 360 in Launch (Around 70K) Old unit models deals etc... and you have 80-90K Range like VGC had 360 that week on U.K.

Oh, I wasn't referring to the the UK. More than likely our numbers there are correct. I was referring to mainland Europe. And to a lesser extent the Middle East and Asia. Has the slim even launched there?

Microsoft only said North America , Japan and Europe... Dont even know if Central america , South america and Asia have the 360s already... Australia and NZ have it for sure.

You know... im starting to think it might do 12.5-13M for the calendar year... Stranger things have happened, but its still strange either way. A huge 5th year peak?

Tease.

I still doubt it will outsell 2008  (shrugs)

After seeing this week's EMEAA numbers I can't see the 360 matching the 2008 holiday. It's going to start being dramatically down in that region compared to 2008 come the end of September. And I still suspect we're overtracking it in that region. I stand by my 500k up on 2008 prediction.
