I don't know, why would you care about graphics in a MMO?

whatever the developer of TOR says. The videos indicate something else.
TOR is Modern SW during the fall of Republic set in KoToR. The developer even says retarded comments about the various classes. When you think Smuggler you think Han-Solo, same with jedi's, bounty hunters, soldiers and so on. As such everything in ToR is just SW 1-6 wrapped and destroying the awesome Golden Age era.
Secondly the developer and videos show that "this is a balanced team" which consisted of tank(Storm Trooper... I mean soldier, dps(Jedi), controller(smuggler) and healer(Consular). When the combat started it pretty much played out like WoW. yay?!?
The best part going for ToR. Is that supposedly Bioware famous dialog writing will be in it and will give us some more control over the outcomes of the adventures. And that other players can interject their own dialog choices.
So far however what I've seen is that ToR is the WoW experience in space. Some of the best parts that SW could do are being done very shallow manner.
I'm more looking forward to Guild Wars 2, Fallout MMO and Vampire Online than ToR. Which is a shame because I love Bioware and I love SW, but I feel Lucas Arts has too much directive control over the project. I think what rubs me the wrong way about the ToR community is that most of them are Bioware gamers and don't play MMO at all. ToR will be their first. However many MMO gamers that also play Bioware games have commented that it looks(as in play) like WoW. They are often flamed for being anti Bioware. It's a shame. Veterans are being ignored by the ignorant.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
I'm excited for The Secret World, but it's been about a year since we've heard or seen anything from it, so I'm not too optimistic that it's coming out anytime soon.

I don't. Was just a thought. Rainbird, have you seen XIVs graphics though? It is fricken CRAZY for a MMO.
Also I kind of like how in TOR it is story based. I also like instanced areas. Seems like they have more room for story.

In that case, I probably won't care for TOR. The only reason I wanted it was because of the story, but if they haven't advanced the gameplay beyond WoW, I'll just stick with GW2.

Nah, I've had my eyes fixed on GW2.

Well it's likely that my wife and me will try it out. We both love SW, I enjoy Bioware games she loves Bioware games. We both appreciate the story effort that Bioware put's into their work. So even though the combat seems 1:1 WoW i'm hoping that Combat isn't the center point of ToR. I supposed that's what's going to make it or break it for us. In WoW the entire game is about the combat. In Bioware games Combat is used as a climax element to their stories. Which means that Combat isn't the center even though it happens very often. If Bioware maintains that Story and Character are the center then I can enjoy the game. It's just that what Bioware has shown us is well combat and standard WoW features. So with that in mind just keep an open mind. The videos may be doing Bioware creative team a sever injustice. Let's just say you can't really convey the real experience of a bioware game by videos. So they show combat instead. So we will see.

Well, I'm all for story, but WoW-combat just really sucks. Time will tell I guess, but I think I'll have a hard time going back to WoW-like gameplay once I get used to GW2.

Took these from my Official Thread. The game is just pure gorgeous.
I'm gonna give FFXIV a go myself, simply because I love Final Fantasy as a franchise and SE as a developer and I have faith that they might actually manage to make an MMO I'd bother to play. I've played WoW and some of the free stuff but nothing has really gotten me interested over any considerable time and I mostly get bored after a couple of weeks.
