Ah. I had assumed that was only for the US much like the S launch.
Microsoft is finally doing all it takes to increase the gap with PS3...pretty damn impressive numbers in UK!! Now PS3 has to come up with somethin finally to counter this...shouldn't they?

I guess Microsoft wasn't lying about this is gonna be there biggest year in XBOX history.

Don't get to ahead of yourself considering its weak first half of the year. Also all the companies are coming out with great exclusive lineups and Sony also has Move. Still it has been an amazing first couple of weeks for Microsoft.

Wii has lost Japan to PS3, now UK to 360, good year to be a gamer ;)
Didn't UK recieve the same discounts on "old" 360 SKU's as USA? If so, wouldn't many of these sales be old SKU's rather than new Slim's?
Amazing how well 360 slim is doing though, considering it launched without any price drop. It seems to be close to matching PS3 slim launch sales, except that PS3 slim of course included a $100 msrp slash. However that will probably mean the 360's long term boost will not be as strong.

Why? Sony have to make a profit at some point with the PS3. They bathed in the spotlight of success for a year it's their turn to weather the storm this xmas and see where things lie in the Spring. Expect heavy bundling this year and maybe a small cut in the US. To be honest I doubt the 360 will go galloping into the distance unless they cut the 360S price around the Kinect launch (and IF Kinect is a success).
All in all though these are phenomenal numbers for the 360S and prove that the UK and US are a lost cause for Sony this generation. I can only assume the hefty price tag did more damage to it's reputation in those countries than people could have predicted.
Damn ...
I underestimated the 360S launch week in every region. These numbers are impressive. Congrats MS.
Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

the 360 slim
certainly did well in U.S.
and the Others region
but....
the 360 slim was a total failure
in Japan
in fact, in the Japan preview for the upcoming week, the 360 hardware is expected to be at pre 360 slim levels already
that's pretty pathetic
in fact, I think the boost the 360 hardware had a few weeks ago was due to MH and not the 360 slim
the 360 slim did absolutely nothing for 360 hardware sales in Japan as sales are already back to normal levels
don't forget, last year, before the PS3 slim came out in Japan, the PS3 was averaging about 8-10k hardware sales per week in Japan before the PS3 slim launch. The PS3 slim has PERMANENTLY raised that to at least 17-22k per week. The PS3 slim made a permanent change to PS3 hardware sales in Japan, while the 360 slim did nothing for long lasting hardware sales as the 360 hardware sales are already back down to normal levels this week.
so no, worldwide the 360 slim launch was not as successful as the PS3 slim
of course,
the PS3 slim also had a big price drop as well, when it was released.....
the price drop also helped the PS3 slim sell 150k hardware in Japan alone, the week it released, compared to only 17k for the 360 slim in Japan, when the 360 slim released there a few weeks ago
