Yes the trailer looked good. But thats about it. There was hardly any ingame footage. Is it getting so many awards just because of the trailer?

You should take a look at the other videos demonstrating the new gameplay elements.
Seeing the success of the first Portal and the improvements Valve are making here.... Yea, can't wait to load it up on my PC.

eh 1st one, it was great for what it was, too short to really leave that much of an impression. But, I liked all the other games in the orange box better besides HL2ep1.
the new one... looks like a good sequal to me. I'd rather have half life 2 ep 3.
that is all. /ends rant

Theres plenty of ingame footage from E3, you're just not looking for it. Part 1 was awesome, and part 2 is going to be better, that's why.
As a person who loves games that innovate and step out the normal boundaries of video games i.e. Heavy Rain, Mirror's Edge, and Flower. I definitely believe that Portal 2 deserved all those awards.
Well, Portal at 3 hours was superior as an SP experience and more original than most any other game that year, so I guess you're talking pedigree plus the fact that the current showing of content does indicate that Portal 2 will be the critics choice once again.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
