I think you just took it that he was saying it was all profit. to everyone else it was what he said, it was making more profit. While I don't wnat to nor have time to get into the numbers, someone previously posted sony was still not posting profits, and microsoft is, so maybe the answer is there in which model makes more profit.

Microsoft need to get some first party games or buy some better some better companies. Their Kinect stuff might sell though.

Ok i will explain what i think they mean.

 

Sony will make like what say 10 games a year. M$ what like 3 or something?

Know lets say that M$ sell like 13 million of them games. Sony sells like 22 million of them games.

Those games cost money to make so M$ were more profitable then Sony. Even though sony made the most revenue.

Te M$ get money for Live. And i am damb sure that keeping live going and maintaining it costs less then making a game. and it has how many subscribers? say 20 million. That is huge amounts of revenue they are getting and spending a little amount of money to get that means you are more likly to make a profit.

 

All they are saying to you is what M$ is doing has a better chance of making profit then what Sony is doing. Sony is spending more money on these games for a lesser return then what M$ is doing with live. They have a good buisness plan.

yes but all the XBOX LIVE $1b doesn't only come from subscriptions but also from game purchases,etc

PSN has all that revenue too,just not the GOLD LIVE subsciption

 

i know LIVE doesn't pretty good job at making money but he was sounding like all the money coming in is pure profit

yh He was being a douche the way he was going about it to be honest. Yh i know what your saying still. And tbh i prefer Sony's buisness model. Means more games for me. And with what Sony is doing it only adds extra value to the console so More console purchases thus making them more money then Live. See you can spin it eva way.

Sony has more games selling than MS Plus 3 Consoles againt 1. its normal it sells more software but if we see the total in the end of the year 360 will win with Reach , Fable 3 and Black ops it should stay ahead of Ps3 but ofc Sony will sell more SW than MS every singe year... At least while Kinect doesnt arrives...

600M @ 30% = $180M 

600M @ 65% =  $390M

Total = $570M

Note: Live gold margins are covering entire cost of operations.

$570M is = or > than total Sony first party revenue for the past year. Im basing this on the analyst piece I read a week or so back about Xbox Live.
