Forums - General Discussion - Mafia Round 18 Game Thread

Good post noname.
Here are my thoughts on some of the things brought up by you and in previous posts:

Khuutra
I believe we do have a doctor, but they were smart enough not to take Khuutra's request for protection literally. As has been stated: the whole purpose of his request was to make targeting him risky early on even if he wasn't actually being protected.
I'm very surprised the other mafia were ballsy enough to target Khuutra anyway though.

Hatmoza
Now that Khuutra's alignment has been revealed it actually makes me less suspicious of Hatmoza. Mafia tend to try and distance themselves from each other during the day yet Hatmoza professed his admiration and everlasting man-love for Khuutra without any prompting.

In my experience I've found that people who talk a lot and appear suspicious before being put under any pressure (such as Hatmoza and dsister) usually turn out to be innocent. It's the snakes in the grass, not making any obvious ripples until forced to, that we have to watch out for.

Vetteman94
It's good you're here now and contributing: but you've yet to comment on anything other than to defend yourself (and that you don't like lynching lurkers, no surprise there.) I'm satisfied for now: but if you slip back into the shadows again today I'm going to get seriously suspicious.

Lurkers
I think its unwise to remove the pressure on lurkers now. Yes, lynching someone that hasn't said a lot is risky, but the point of doing so is to prevent the mafia from being able to hide behind not saying anything during the day. Once everyone has had a chance to comment I'm going to run through the list of players and see who isn't contributing anything again.

So far, makingmusic was a fake, and dsister is the only person people suspect with a reason, but some people are voting for others, and people want to end today....

hmm....

Does this post stick out like a sore thumb to anyone else?  It just seems fishy to me.  It doesn't even really say anything.

He could still be on the other mafia faction though.  I'm not saying I find him suspicious, just that your observation only applies to one mafia team.

Yes, I considered this too: he could have mistakenly believed Khuutra was a townie and wanted to get on his good side early on. I'm certainly not saying that Hatmoza is completely clean however I don't see any reason to suspect him based on his interactions with Khuutra.

The invisible assassin stuff is more incriminating, but since nen-suer refused to end MM's nonsense after being given the chance several times I was beginning to believe he had some ridiculous secret role too.

@noname: long post is long.

Also, FoS dsister

His random accusations just seems like grasping at straws with no real leads. He's searching for reasons to accuse others, probably to draw the attention on others.

@republic

I laugh because the first thing that came to my mind when I read Nikells post was " I could easily be in the second mafia group." ... I assure you that I'm not mafia (or any anti town faction) but you being open to possibilties like that makes me less suspicious of you.

Because I'm down to my knees in studies I'll make this quick. I have a big test in an hour then it's straight to books after that.

I actually got a good read on Nikells from day one. He's usually scum and is very timid. The way hes acting so far is very pro-town, and I'm not just saying that because he called me out for my love obsession over Khuutra. He seems to be genuine.

@noname. Amazing post, I just wish I had more time to give a fair response to what you had to say but I'll say this.

Even though (at the time) I didn't think much of what I posted about the invisible assassin, my suspicion for F-F skyrocketed through the roof at how quickly he accepted it. I was going to wait til day 2 or after to put pressure on him in hopes we had more info to go on but he's dead and was mafia anyways so good riddance.

As for me not responding and jumping/switching all over MM's case, it's not because I didn't see those posts concerning Khuutra and the possibilies of a cop invetigating him, it's that I didn't disagree with them therefore didn't respond.

This. I still don't understand why Dsister has voted Vetteman and can't explain his reason.

By the way, has anyone else noticed we already have two people who claim their role "sucks"?  I just thought that was a little odd.

This is true.  Additionally, several people claim that they did not receive their role PM until several hours after the game began, which strikes me as possible but unlikely.  The fact that so many have the same story supports the possibility though.

Well, it's very odd that they would whine about their role (as in, it always looks fishy) but what I'm thinking is: why would a mafia bring attention to themselves that easily? So it's either they're really whining about their role, or they're trying to get people to buy they have a boring role (dangerous)

I find it strange that MM ignored me last night and is ignoring us today. Maybe his role doesn't allow him to talk or respond to players about his role.

I want to believe that him never being in the OP was a screw up from nen, so I'll wait for nen to clear things up. If things stay the same after that, I say we lynch the fuck out of MM because Noob Saibot is invisible and is an assassin according to MK Wiki.

*edit: added "about his role"

All three thinking of an invisible assassin does sorta pin them together...

How long did that take you? 0_o

My comment are in bold.

But, my top suspect still remains Sabby for being so odd during day 1. Wanting the day to end while stating that he only posted when he saw fit (that doesn't contribute to the town at all)

@noname:

Excellent analysis. What struck me most is how Final-Fan and Khuutra jumped on the "assassin" train and they both turned out to be Mafia. Now what I'm thinking is, did Khuutra or Final-Fan associate partners with anyone? Like backing someone in the least suspicious way? Because if they did, we could possibly gain more ideas on who could be Mafia being that Final and Khuutra both turned out Mafia. The problem is, I don't want to go through 400 posts but will if necessary.

Also, about me, the reason I wanted the day to end because I thought the day had gone on for too long, and the way MM played us didn't make things better. It turns out that the MM situation has turned out to be a good thing for us townies.

Eh, actually, when hatmoza explained why khuutra was asking for protection from the doc (I'm pretty sure this happened in a post somewhere), that's about the easiest way to back up your mafia buddy without bring too much suspicion to yourself.

Look at it this way: someone comes up saying he needs protection 'cause he's good, then the next person says "yeah! This guy has a point" it's essentially pushing the doc further to protect khuutra.

It was just a thought I was having actually, so I wouldn't mind it because this sounds too conspiracy-ish.
