Forums - General Discussion - what's the best mp3/mp4 player on the market right now

If you guys stop being biased you'd see that ITouch , Walkman and Zune are all good, and about the same in quality, what matters is not tech its Support (that is if you are looking for apps and all)

J&R has the 16, 32 and 64G versions (and they ship to Canada)

buying a zune from the state and getting it ship over here would have cost me a bundle, I might be a sheep as of right now but the ipod touch is actually better then I expected even the earphone are no longer crap like they used to be, the only bad thing is that you need to convert every freaking video file

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

You ignored my tigerdirect post? :P

Granted was $50 more than you wanted to spend, but maybe they did have some 16G in stock :P

Glad you are a happy sheep person though and are happy with your purchase

I've been thinking about buying a mp3 player, but I don't would'nt know how to download songs on it. lol

Erm I'm not sure if you're talking about downloading music from websites/buying it on itunes or to tranfer music stored on your PC to your mp3/mp4.

Well, keep in mind that a mp3/mp4 works as an usb drive - plug it in, open the music folder, and paste the songs you want. It's really that easy. On the iPods it's slightly different: even tho it sychronizes automatically with the songs on iTunes, you can only transfer music from one computer. And by this, I mean that you can't get music from your m8s if you don't have your PC.

To get music, there are lots of different ways: torrents, programs like Dreamule, you can download youtube videos and then convert 'em to mp3 (http://www.listentoyoutube.com), websites that provide albums only (www.katz.cd ; www.maxalbums.com). Oh and iTunes allows you to buy stuff lol

Thanks for your help.

This is wrong, you can if you have it set to manual syncing.

I was merely pointing out the differences of an ipod to a mp4, but you're correct nonetheless.

This one was my first mp4, about  -> https://techmallcr.com/images/productos/NWZ-S615.jpg

At the moment, I have an iPod Nano and it's pretty awesome. I didn't really had the need to change, but I always wanted to have an iPod. Very simple to handle, it's pretty, the only problem is that you can only sychronize with one computer. This means that if you go to a friends place, you can't give him your songs. That's really the only problem, I love the rest about it.

If you're not very into the whole "ipods" thing, I'd advise you to check this one: http://www.sony.co.uk/product/nws-e-series/nwz-e455

moving music from your ipod to a computer is possible...apple just made it harder to do so most ppl wouldn't be able to do it. I don't have the original link for when i did it (and it worked) but here's one that seems to have the same steps from what i can remember.

If you really must get a standalone rather than using your phone (which I do) or some other handheld (in my case its my PSP, which I love since the space is expandable) then either zune since its a good price per gig or sony walkman since the sound is top notch.

I prefer to only carry one or two devices on me at any given time, which is why ive never had an actual mp3 player.

I love my cell phone, android is awesome.

I don't think people posting zune hd are joking, it looks like an excellent product and I wish I could afford one.  Right now I'm using a Zune 30.  First generation of zune, have had it since launch and never been disappointed, I love it.

Edit: wow I somehow didn't notice there were 3 other pages before I replied.

... he already bought an iPod Touch.. why are you guys still recommending other ones?

Anyway.. go buy Space Invaders Infinite Gene from the Appstore and thank me later..

That is just wrong.

They are better in better things - for example with a good Walkman you will get £30 earphones, and the most extensive sound playback capabilities along along with Sony equaliser settings which are awesome.

With an Itouch - you get shit earphones and basic sound capabilities, but it obviously does a lot of other stuff better.

I have a 120 gig iPod in which I have my full multimedia collection, 73 gigs of music and 15 gigs of videos. But I also just got my brand new Motorola Droid X that comes with 24 gigs, so I'll probably use my ipod for trips and whatnot and use my phone for more commonplace uses.
