Forums - Nintendo - Chrono Trigger made me sad again :-(

Eh, I'd much rather see a new Chrono game. Then again....I don't really trust square to pull it off. Maybe Level-5.

Yup, Level-5 has shown that they can do a great job in solid RPG series. If they can have the same quality impact in a new Chrono Trigger game as they have had on Dragon Quest, then Chrono 3 would be awesome.

Well, the original is easily one of the best JRPGs ever made. And I'm not sure about all these remakes of the 2D games. Part of the charm of the 2D games (and to a lesser extent the PS1 gen games) was that you could use more of your imagination to immerse yourself in the worlds. Improving the visuals may reduce that somewhat.

Having said that, the III and IV remakes on DS looked and played fantastic... actually, forget what I said, I want a CT remake too!

The only reason Crono Trigger makes me sad these days is that I know I will never see masterpices like this from S-E ever again( well Squaresoft to be exact) they pretty much have sold their soul to the western market

Parasite Eve will (hopefully) invalidate this

that video does looks pretty impressive for a fan made game.

The DS port in 2009 was the first time the game was released in Europe, I played the game and instantly fell in love with it.

Compared to other classic RPGs, I doesn't need remake, but I sure as hell would like one

aound 19 or so. But the I just beat the dinosaur boss. Lightning is such a gift with those dinosaurs

Nizbel from the Reptite Lair right? Well, he/she/it has a nifty Third Eye accessory to Charm (one of the only three available in the whole game) so that's a must for me

And yeah, Lightning is a must for that fight, because it lowers it's defenses, but on the downside, it makes the boss counter with Lightning Discharge.

Yes, Nizbel. The Discharge is ok once you know how to prepare. I thought that magus was a bit tougher but not so bad either.

I am now back in BC and gonna fight the reptites the second time. Good fun overall.

I progressed a lot in the recent days, got up to the part where the Oceanic Palace collapses. CT is so much fun

Seems like you have no life.

First time I ever played CT, I did not find the magic cave entrance. It was maddening.

I just had two long train trips between my college dorm and my parents house, which gave me enough time to play CT

Gahhh, don't get me started on the magic cave >_<

Actually my first time on CT I got stuck in lots of places. I forgot about the X A B Y code which made me stuck on the robot factory for days,  I didn't know about how to resurrect Chrono, I got lost for days in the Blackbird.

sigh. I remember those videos before the project was cancelled.
