No, it's not, to the best of my knowledge. I'd have a good idea of the situaiton: my wife is Taiwanese (you could argue Chinese on her mother's side I suppose), while I am about as big a honky as you can find.

Taiwan has been a part of China since uh, a few hundred years ago(outside of the political drama and shit,) so they are all Chinese lol. Fact.

 

PS: Yes there are natives, but the majority originated from China decendent outside of those these days, then there was the Japanese domination for about 50 years, it's all fucked up and weird, but they are pretty much Chinese or Natives, there is no actual Taiwaness since the name Taiwan was made using a dialect from China at the southern parts and has a pretty sad origin as well lol. I can go back a long way with that shit.

read my PS lol, I know a lot about the actual history of that place more than most people who still live there to this day or were from that place, and I know the politics of that place pretty well too and I can safely say that they are all retarded in general and the current president is at least trying to save the economy of that place.

Listen, being aboriginal Taiwanese o not has nothing to do withh it; never ask Chinese people who qualifies as Chinese. I had a floormate in university who insisted that my wife wasn't Chinese.

"She's not Chinese! I am from Beijing; I am Chinese."

Different cultures have different understandings of cultural identities and it's easier to say her parents are from Taiwan than to go into long explanations about what happened before that (her grandfather was actually a general in the Chinese military before his family fled the country during the whole rise of communism thing).
