" These are the same people that begged for games like The Conduit, Dead Space Extraction, Mad World, Metroid Prime Trilogy, No More Heroes and then never helped any of them exceed 600k in sales."

I gotta call that. We begged for games like GTA, Resident Evil (not the rail shooters), Street Fighter IV, Assassin's Creed. Only one of those we actually got, and even though it was already on two systems, we still bought a million copies of it. So it's the developers's fault for not giving us the hit games.

You demanded, you pleaded, you told Nintendo and 3rd parties to pay attention to you.  Now you have their full attention as proven at the Nintendo E3 media conference and E3 show floor.  But will you make good on this new focus and open your wallet or let it go to waste and become more fodder for the "core games don't sell on Wii" crowd?

I put some of my thoughts on it.

So are you buying in or are we going to find truth in the Wii Bingo Board?

I don't think third parties proved anything in Nintendo's E3 this year when we talk about Wii's software support since the only new 3rd party game announced in E3 this year was Goldeneye. :P Nintendo proved something, but not the third parties when we talk about games for the Wii that are new.

I'm not saying Wii doesn't have 3rd party support this year, I'm saying there wasn't many new 3rd party games announced for the Wii this year during E3. This means that the 3rd party has proven nothing in this E3.

In one sentence; How does one new third party Wii game announced in Nintedo's E3 prove that the third parties have listened to the core gamers?

Third parties have proven they have listened to the Nintendo Wii core gamers by announcing several new games before E3, rather than at E3.

I already support third parties by buying their games new.  I've always owned more third party games than first party games on all my Nintendo systems.  It's never going to change.  I'll take what I can get and be happy with it.

360 Games Now Playing   360 Games unopened:  Resonance of Fate  Last 360 Game I Beat: Resident Evil 5

DS Games Now Playing: Dragon Quest VI  DS Games unopened Knights in the Nightmare, Etrian Odyssey III, Okamiden, Dragon Quest IX Last DS Game I beat: Radiant Historia

Wii Games Now Playing  Super Mario Galaxy 2, Arc Rise Fantasia  Wii  Games unopened  Little King's Story, Sonic Colors, Silent Hill Shattered Memories Last Wii Game I beat: Sin & Punishment 2

Well I've already purchased TvC, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and No More Heroes 2 this year. Goldeneye and Epic Mickey are definite buys as well.

I buy any game ...3rd party or not, hardcore or casual etc based on the following criteria:

1. It seems to be in a genre or style that appeals to my taste.

2 General concensus states that it is a good game.

ie, if any of these 3rd party games are supposed to be good, I will part with my cash as I always have (I did purchase day of release madworld, little kings story,NMH 1 and 2, Endless Ocean 1 2 (if they count) MH3 and house of the dead- overkill, for instance, as I had heard they didn't suck. I was interested in The Conduit but it didn't exactly recieve a positive reception so I passed it up. If Conduit 2 is supposed to be good I will probably buy it although I gotta admit it aint something I'm that excited about right now! GOLDENEYE has potential but I'll also wait and see. Am more excited about Nintendo's 1st party lineup to care at the moment for the near future!

Hey, a Wii Bingo Board is a great idea. Even better, Nintendo could market it in assisted living and nursing homes before they release it and price it at a 33% to 50% discount for each senior citizen residing at an assisted living or nursing home they advertised it in.

The Blue Ocean is looking a lot Bluer thanks to you Viper :)

Well I for one will be puting my money where my mouth is. This year alone I am getting Epic Mickey, Donkey Kong Country, Kirby, Goldeneye, Wii Party, and possibly: The Conduit 2, NBA Jam, and Sonic Colors depending on their reviews.

So you want games that are established on other systems and no new IPs?   I think you bought the wrong console.  You look at where the games you like are and buy that console, you don't buy a console and then whine for the games you want to be on it.

I did NOT write that. I all I wrote was that we weren't begging for games like Madworld or No More Heroes. How could we? New IPs mean we can't know about them in advance to beg for them.

LOTN, the games Ilisted represent a concept more so than their actual IP.  Some call them core or hardcore games.  or at the very least, non-casual. The point was to illustrate that many Wii gamers behevently vocalized their frustration at the lack of these so called core games and yet when they were presented to Wii gamers at retail, Wii gamers failed to validate the demands by not putting enough money where their mouth was.

And I can only assume the one we got you are referring to is RE4: Wii Edition.  A game we did not need to vocalize our demand for as it was in planning and development before Wii even launched.  And it sold on almost merit alone.

And props to all of you making the effort to support those risk taking developers, publishers and IPs.

Lol, good one viper. I nearly fell for this until I checked your game collection.

Rol would be proud.
