Software's usually another day or so. I think 30k at least for PS3, and probably higher like you say. Open pricing old SKUs should push it decently, but it also depends on what's in the channel. The last system to get "open price"d was DS Lite, but there were so few on shelves by that point it didn't much impact overall. I don't think Wii will have any increase tbh (so 20k-ish) and 360 will probably drop back to sub-5k (;_;). |
Wii increased this week in anticipation of DQ next week while PS3 dropped. The sale trend this year in Japan is really unpredictable.

I thought it's this week.
EDIT: found out it's not. It is coming out on July 29th.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

The PS3 is down from last week even though it had WKC2 and that price cut? Seems really strange.
@Boutros They're clearing out stock to make way for the 160 and 320 gig models. I assumed they would have a fair bit in the channel but I guess not.

lol, holy crap, I was totally wrong about hardware! PS3 dropped some despite the cut (supplies?), Wii actually rose decently (ahead of PSP too) and 360 kept it's head above 5k (<3).

What is this PS3 cut ppl are talking about? was there a price cut for PS3 in japan?
Supposedly there was open pricing for older PS3 models on July 7 but it doesn't seem to have impacted anything.

Yes, current 120GB models went "open price", which basically means retailers can charge whatever.
