PlayStation Move Console Bundle

I Know, amazon is not a reference, but #2,791, that's to much far away for a good sales.

YIKES that low, when will Move be release?

probably not - i will put a lot of blame on marketing as their marketing tends to suck.

So you think Marketing will be the reason and not the high entry price?

move cost half that of kinect.

move is overall a better technology for the application of games then kinect or the wii.

move has a vastly better library of announced games than kinect.

and yet, kinect will undoubtedly sell better.

nope, i fear move (like lbp, uncharted, GoW, infamous, killzone, ect.) will just not resonate with the audience because sony doesn't know how to sell themselves.  sony has soo many great games and products and no one seems to know it. :(

I'm not talking about exisitng owners though, I'm talking about new ones, that will go for the console and motion. So the 360 is cheaper in that regard ...

Debatable on the 2nd bit.

I think sony have finally got marketing in the bag personally!

well, i'm may be taking a leap here as the price of kinect isn't set in stone but...

ps3 move bundle is $399 (which includes: ps3, move, and 1 game)

360 slim is $300 $150 kinect 1 game =  around $500, around $400 with an arcade

move is only more expensive if you try saying all move owners have to go home with 4 controllers, but that's not the entry price.  really, both kinect and move are priced pretty damn high.

the second point is obviously subjective but in the case of kinect there is only casual crap announced.  for move there is casual crap and core crap.  at the very least sony is casting a wider net.  menu navigation isn't going to do crap to sell to the 10 million 360 owners who are in the halo/CoD crowd.

I agree, everything you said is entirly possible, if the cheapest price is 360 $199 - Kinect $150 - Game $60 .. = $410, it'll be a massive fail by Microsoft.

The odds though, are in MS's favour.

The Arcade has been at $199 for 2 years now, with the slim, knocking $50 off the price really shouldn't be difficult when they're making the profit's they are. i won't dwell on it, but if Sony can knock $100 off when they're losing hundreds of millions, Microsoft can knock $50 off in 2 years when they're MAKING hundreds of millions.

If they don't drop the price of the Arcade, I'll be a bit confused tbh.

Kinect, yup could very well be $149, I don't buy much into retailers guesstimates, we'll find out how much it is in 4 weeks time.

Game - There will be one bundled, I think this is common sense.

At worst $410, at best Kinect is $99 with bundled game, and a $149 Arcade = $249.

Everything though, I mean everything, is just speculation. a 360 bundle could range from $199 if MS wants to go a lil crazy, to $450 if they want to be greedy.

Personally though .. I'm betting on a $249 bundle. Which I feel is at the top end of what a casual will plonk down.

The finalized pricing from MS is supposedly due to be released within the month. We'll see.

Kinect bundles will most likely be the best path for upgrading I'm guessing, considering that the Kinect kit for old 360s will require the AC adapter and proprietary connecting cable and will probably carry an additional premium cost. From a marketing standpoint, this also helps sell the 360 S that is "Kinect Ready."

Price-wise, I'll be very surprised if MS sells the Arcade/Kinect bundle for less than $299 to the point where I'm willing to make a bet (I will buy a Kinect bundle myself) if it's under $250.

Even if they sold Kinect (for the 360 S) separately for $99, it would still be the equivalent of selling the Arcade for $149.

At that price point, I have to question how much profit MS would actually be making on each bundle sold, or if they were simply forgoing profits in an attempt to push Kinect on general consumers.

Wait, if you were to buy a Move you'd need a PS3. So in theory you can't sell it to non PS3 owners.

Do you believe a $149 arcade is out of the question? despite (as I keep stressing) it hasn't had a price cut in 2 years?

Casual and $399 just don't go together if you ask me.

If there was ever a time to do it, it would be with the release of the updated Arcade 360 S.

I've yet to see the iSupply breakdown on estimated per unit costs, but it's safe to say that the new design is cheaper. How much cheaper is currently anybody's guess without those estimates.

So MS has the option of dropping $50 off the Arcade in the interest of expanding 360 userbase, or... they effectively drop $50 off the price of Kinect by bundling it for less with the Arcade in the interest of building the Kinect userbase.

Incentive to buy Kinect remains, even among those mainly interested in a new Xbox 360, and MS effectively sells more consoles on the back of Kinect.

The only reason for aggressive pricing would be if the bundles aren't selling on par with projections. I'm leaning more towards production/shipping rates being on par with demand, making the need for slashed prices and reduced profits unnecessary at least during the initial wave of sales.

MS would like to sell as many 250GB 360 S at $299 as possible, but I'm thinking there will be an effective $50 price drop, but only when bundled with Kinect. Same for the Arcade 360 S.

not for people on budget, which = most people these days.....

"Show me the games!"

When there is at least one compelling killer app available for Move, people will find a way to gather the means, even if it means :: cough :: getting a second job.

But until then, anyone on a budget probably should (and will) take a pass at Move.

The one problem that I see with Move over Kinect is this.  For NEW buyers it'll come down to dollars.  If MS comes out with a $149 Arcade Slim (which I think they will before the Kinect release in November), and they stick with the $149 Kinect price point (which I personally think is retarded.  Sell razors cheap and make money on the blades), It'll be a $300 bundle.

Sony is going to have to bite the bullet and drop the sale of their console to $199 to get on par with Microsoft.  It's well established that anyone out there who pretty much hasn't bought a PS3 at this point doesn't care about Bluray...or they have a standalone BR player.  It's going to come down to pure, plain, simple dollars.

Kinect and a Slim Arcade $300 (I'm going off of rumoured pricing)

PS3 Slim and Move $400

That's two extra games they can buy their kid for Christmas.

And of course, after I post this I find that there's another 6 pages of comments.  Sorry!  First time poster.
