Forums - General - Is Lady GaGa one of the most musical artistic people ever?

I can understand why someone would dislike Lady Gaga but saying that she'll be forgotten any time soon is just being ignorant.

Lady Gaga has some good songs. This is my favorite from hers, personally:

(haha I kidd)

Well you see, there are these POP bands/artists, and then there are these GOOD bands. The difference is that today, you'll defend Taylor with everything you got, but in a couple of years from now, you'll feel ashamed and embarrassed of not only have listened to what you thought it was music, but have actually defended sucha commercial artist that fails at creating meaningful music - always about a boy and a girl and possibly an impossible love. Now, I have no problems with lyrics about love, as long as it isn't a repetitive and generic, and above all, meant for teens that have nothing inside their heads. And of course, lyrics aren't everything. Some great bands don't even need a singer to make quality music (e.g. God is An Astronaut) but the tune is just as generic.

See a pattern? The list goes on, I simply cba to search for more. And I could post a couple of links about my personal preferences of what I think it's good music, but let's not derail this thread.

Simple answer, no.

My brain is exploding!

I agree. She sings WAY better than Madonna (I saw her live) and her compositions are quite interesting. "You and I" is an excellent new song she just sang (it's on her new album).

So, by all your statements, nobody could even become a legend these days.

Lay G maybe, Swift? not in a million years, she's bland and forgettable.

no they can, Dream Theater is a good band and they're still active these days and are popular among music lovers.

not everything mainstream suck ass , see.. there is always good and bad.

Johnny Depp =/= that Edward Cullen guy (i don't even know his real name)

PoTC =/= Twilight

American Gods =/= Twilight Books

The Killers =/= Jonas Brothers

the same could imply on Art , Games  and just about everything.

it also true on not so popular stuff, such as the crappy indie bands and the good indie bands , so what i am saying is popularity and "These Days" era doesn't matter.
