How is adding 38k preorders this week not doing well in any context, and are you really making LT estimates off of preorders from two months before it releases?

Indeed. Reach is doing very well when you think about it. Almost 500k pre-orders with 2 and a half months to go. That is before any form of advertising has started.

We know MS will advertise the hell out of this game. It is one of very few games that can cross over into the mainstream. There is going to be the obvious normal things like the tv trailers but you can expect things like Halo burgers, Halo drinks, Halo everything. It will have Halo written on a wide range of products.

MS are going to spend big on it. It might not have 4 in the title but they will treat it like it does. It would not surprise me at all to see a couple of weeks prior to release it do 300k-400k a week pre-orders.

I'm going by what MW2 had...every week Halo Reach tracks farther and farther behind MW2.

I'm hoping for the best but I fear the worst.

I know Vegas for 360 won't outsell GT5 or CoD on PS3 but being up by 20k plus at this point is pretty impressive.  WRPG fans must tend to pre-order more than the average or maybe it's Fallout fans.  Is the PS3 version not a simultaneous release?  It's tracking at 1/2 but I expect the two to be fairly close.  You wonder if the site actually picks up your pre-order.  I'm the 1 in 38,051.

Also, the time frame of release needs to be taken into account when comparing to MW2.  Are there any Halo 3 preorder numbers available?

Probably cancelled pre-orders/losing faith in release.

Some people I know think it has been cancelled. It will go to at least 500k pre orders in USA though.

were the previous gt games first week big hitters ? or is it more a long time seller ?

It still has 16 - 17 weeks to go before launch. The numbers are going to pick up.
