Miyamoto:We only check forums 4 reactions 2 our games. ME:Reaction 2 Zelda Enemies: Target Practice
In IGN's E3 interview with him, Miyamoto said him & the boys never go on forums for ideas. They only do so occasionally to check people's reactions to their already released games. OGY from VGC said in his hands on time wiv Skyward Sword dat he rolled a bomb next 2 a Deku Baba who turned around & ate it. I like the idea of the Deku Baba being able to roll the bomb back to you. My younger bro gave an analysis on why the enemies in TP were so easy. Even when the tough ones are programmed to defend well against your attacks, they're aren't programmed to really attack you well. There wasn't a single regular enemy that had a combo attack and Darknuts don't do as much damage as they look like they're doing.
Only those ice warriors. They blocked attacks (as most Zelda enemies with melee weapons do), had the single strike move most Zelda enemies have (they never grab you or combo you) and threw their spears at you from a distance. Had both long & short range. And lacked the 5-second waiting time Zelda enemies observe between succesive attacks. In fact, I think I'll start a new thread just for this. But I wish the enemies become more imaginative in their attacks. Makes it more fun to find 6 different ways to kill the same enemy if the enemy is actually formidable!
Zelda is also the only game where I've beaten a miniboss in 1 hit ( besides DBZ: Buu's Fury, but THAT was supposed to happen). Try it. Make sure you get your Jump Strike hidden skill before going to the Snowpeak Ruins. Then get behind the miniboss and hit his tail with a jump strike. End of battle.
Fortunately, from the Skyward Sword trailer, i noticed those swine, which are probably regular enemies, block attacks well. i just hope for two things: They also attack you back well and we get instances where Link is fighting half a dozen of those guys while trying to fend off two bigger enemies. I want to feel like the enemies are actually a threat, and not just the stage traps/ platforming.
