I'm still quite baffled by SE decision. Why put DQX on the Wii and then completely ignore it? Every single other (big) game they make is NOT on the system they gave their biggest game to.

because dragon quest just require userbase. reason why dragon que ix was on the DS. it was clear the wii will continue to be cheaper than ps3.

Great "news". I admit I kinda expected it going somewhere else, like the 3DS or PS3.

But since it's not, huge victory for wii. I believe we'll see the first glimpse of it on TGS... or maybe even sooner, just after the hype for DQVictory ends.

Then why not help further develop said userbase by say, providing a remake of FFVI? or a port of FFXIII of some sorts? Really weird stuff.

Very excellent news.

He never said it was Wii exclusive ;)

He also never said that it was not either. To further your point, has there ever been a timed exclusive Dragon Quest/Warrior game?

Even FFXIII wasn't the first FF game to do that, as XI was on both the PC and PS2.

Yes, I know of those games back in the 90's but my question was about Dragon Quest/ Dragon Warrior games.

DQ1-2 were fan ported to MSX, PC88 and X68000 within a year or two of their Famicom debuts.  That's as close as it ever got.

Thanks for the info Jarrod.

Why do people keep asking about SE's decision when they have no say in where Dragon Quest goes? SE only have a contract to publish the games DQ is however fully owned by creator Yuji Horii who decides everything for the franchise.

Because it simply makes business sense. Wii has an enourmous userbase of 72 million, and by the time DQX comes out, it could have 85-90 million. Also, the series does not lean heavilly on graphics. I think the real question should be, why WOULDN'T the game come to Wii?
