I predict ps3 will be at 16 million 5 months earlier than the X360 was in its lfetime.

That has absolutely nothing to do with the conversation. Stop thread-crapping.

If ps3 is at 8 million by the end of this year it will be on the exact track of the 360

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

I hadn't heard this term before but I am going to use it from now on as it pretty well describes what a lot of folks like to do.

@topic,

It is interesting that with the PS3 & 360 selling neck and neck there are folks who believe that the 360 will hit 16m which is 2m consoles away and the PS3 won't hit 8m which is 1.65m consoles away.

2 mill in three-four weeks? Could be done, but it'll need massive sales in NA to do it!

The ps3 also needed multiple hardware price drops and revisions to come remotely close to the 360 this year, where as the 360 suffered a 5 months hardware shortage and no price drops for almost 2 years. Apples to oranges.

Note: Some games in my collection are no longer owned, but have owned.

It will sell 16m should not be a problem.

""I think the RROD problem probably cost it about 4 million in sales, at least it looks like the newer systems are far more reliable. It's also too bad GTAIV didn't make it's release date but it should help a lot in 2008 :""

==> yes, it cost some sales but I think the answer from Microsoft with a 3 years warranty was a wonderfull move to rule out this problem.
whatever, gg Xbox360.

Wierd all consoles seems understimated people were predicting 12m-14m.

its because halo3 gave it a bigger boost then people thought

And a lasting boost, as well.

September 5 weeks - 527k - average 105.4k per week

October 4 weeks - 336k - average 84k per week

It only dropped ~20%."""

==> lol, it is not a simple "Halo3 effect"

price drop/best line-up : Bioshock/AC/CoD4/ME

(from my memory, in PAL, "Bioshock+pricedrop" effect was better than "Halo3 release" effect)

Time to Work !

I think it will end up about 15-16 million, however i dont think its lifetime sales will better the original xbox. I would say the 360's time is over, its PSWii from 2008 folks!
