I bought DQVIII for the demo, and then never played the demo cause I lost it.
but DQVIII was very good. I bought it first day haha

But my guess is that's why the sales were better, kinda with ZOE and MGS2 demo.
Despite DQVIII being very good, and better than FFXII IMO, I bought it for the FFXII demo.

I never got a demo with my copy of DQVIII >:O ive been robbed lol... i got it because i was a big fan of square enix and dragon ball Z.. im angry i never finished it because it got really hard

I actually didn't even play DQVIII when I bought it ahah

I tried it like one year after cause I really didn't care about it.

But it ended up being one of the best game I've played.

Final Fantasy XII was an amazing game. It was worth the C.E. and demo money to me.

I too bought it for the demo, but I also had an idea on what Dragon Quest is in Japan so I gave it a shot.  Have to say it's one of the best RPGs I've played.  Story was terribly weak and they made you run around for no reason, but the gameplay itself is fantastic.  Hell it has a world map!

somebody tell him that there is a woed called MARKETING but after having seen some  tv spots for DQ9 i think it will sell pretty well

I bought DQ for both DQVIII and the demo.  I did play the demo first tho.  

Dragon Quest won't sell in the west, because the west don't like this basic JRPG mechanics, a lot of pepole that I know who love JRPGs, love them despite of the the gameplay, not because of it.

Here's another problem I love SE... more than most people. But, Now I know Dragon Quest 5 DS remake was released a while ago. But it is hard to find. And I didn't have a DS when it came out (New, I prefer it this way unless its ancient)

Now SE online game shop has most games, hell it has the older TWEWY (Which is awesome, and technically not older than the actual DQ5 but you understand)... but I went to the site and went to order it.

And it is out of stock D:.

Now I mean it most likely sold all it could, but gah! irritating im just irritated XD

It's so annoying when you hear all these video game developers bitchin' and moanin' cause their games aren't selling, even though they don't even bother to put an effort into marketing said games. There's a reason why Final Fantasy took off in the west (hint: good advertising campaign). Good thing Nintendo are handling the marketing aspects of DQ9 (can't wait for it BTW).
