Forums - Nintendo - Wii Dis-recommendation Thread

This Dis-recommendation thread is starting to look surprisingly similar to the actual recommendation thread!

madworld, zack and wiki, super paper mario, red steel 2, crystal bearers, boom-blox, little king's story???

Seriously, I can already see someone making the case against Monster Hunter Tri (too steep a learning curve), Brawl (bad online),  Sin & Punishment 2 (more of the same), Zelda and Okami (ports from last gen) etc.. and I haven't even got the Wii ___ series!

It seems that there is a real love-hate relationship with a lot of the Wii's better efforts, much like the way people often feel about Nintendo themselves.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

Won't be surprised if some retard  puts SMG2 here. -_-

Really mature pal. Just because someone doesn't like a game that you like doesn't make them a retard. and you said "Won't" in a sentence with retard, ohhh how ironic.

My game of choice would be FF Crystal Bearers. It is not a bad game by any means, but is not a game for everyone. The battle system sucks, i'm not going to lie. But the story is actually damned good. So I suggest you check into it before you buy it. But if your a FF fan like me, you'll buy it anyways!

That's probably because someone can only dis-recommend a game they've actually played, and presumably most people here have enough common sense to avoid truly terrible games. So what we're left with are games that some people have found disappointing.

I bet that a similar thread about any other platform would also result in many people dis-recommending popular and critically acclaimed games.

Tales of Symphonia - Dawn of the New World.

While the 1st ToS for the Game Cube was simply great, this one was... nothing like it. Crappy characters (Emil and Martha are pretty much the WORST characters I've EVER seen/played/whatever), the story was boring as hell, it was totally predictable, nothing surprising. The monster system was a bad joke, not only did you HAVE to have them in your party (unless you had some of the cameos), you couldn't even control it. You couldn't even start the battle with e.g. Zelos, you had to start the battle with Emil or Martha (that wasn't THAT bad, but it did get annoying, after a while).
Also, you couldn't level up the camoes or change their equipment. The voice acting of the new voice actors was bad. Nowhere near Chaos Wars or Arc Rise Fantasia, but still bad.
And the gameplay was shitty as hell. AFAIK it used the TotA engine, but it didn't play as good as TotA.
Even the Hi-Ougis were... crap. They looked more like some crappy movies, which didn't excited me in any way.
I really wished the battle system was more like ToV.

Right now, this piece of garbage is collecting dust in a corner of my room. And I don't even consider play this ever again.

You say that as if won't isn't a real word.  Though his grammar is still incorrect (should be I won't.)

Happy with all my purchases so far (I haven't even played all them).  Good thing I quit WoW, now I can finally get to playing all these games I have....

Somehow interesting thread. The thing is that maybe is easier to reach a concensus about good games...

Some other thing... this is a site of gamers who check reviews before buying so maybe the games people are disrecommending are games who dissapoint them.

In the end, good or bad may be very subjective

For instance, I don´t understand why Okami is suppose to be so good. I don't understand the game or what? The celestial brush, for example, it doesn't work. It was suppose to be great because of the Wii remote but not in my experience.
