thats why everyone should get a basic pension.

Its stewardship of the income you earn. Someone else (the government) takes a part of your money. If you feel that they are using it unwisely, you can discuss, debate, and argue what to do with it. Remember, its your money. Its no different if you gave your wife some money after she took it from you, and she spent it very poorly...Wouldn't you want to discuss it with her? Or is it 'not your place to judge', despite her demanding it? |
technically, the money belongs to whoever made it. (robots I believe, they could be rich if they thougt like you guys, huh?)
if I was married and my wife asked for money that I had spare, she could have it. and yes, its not my place to judge how she spends it, if I did that, it would be hard to have a long relationship with anyone ;)

Money is made, or earned when an economic transaction occurs. If I do a job for someone, I may demand compensation. Currency is usually the preferred method. if I was married and my wife asked for money that I had spare, she could have it. and yes, its not my place to judge how she spends it, if I did that, it would be hard to have a long relationship with anyone ;) Unless she keeps taking your money and spending it frivolously. You'd be surprised how often divorces happen because one person cannot spend wisely, and leads the family into bankruptcy. |

1) sure, but all money was created at some point, also, you assume that I agree with what people are paid for there jobs, which I do not.
2) seriously? your using a rare extreme here? I guess, but then i can just say this to you: it would be that rare and extreme for someone to abuse benefits too, so we should still have them because only a few will abuse the system that benefits the others.

50% of all divorces are due to arguments about money...So its not a rare case. Its actually quite common, in fact.
If you want to be one of those people that don't even agree with anyone being paid more for hard work, be my guest. I just wonder how much you'll change that in 10 years :-p

You said that people spending unwisely was a rare extreme. I told you that not only was it not a rare extreme (it happens a lot), but money is a central subject in relationships and divorces...Hence why its important to reach proper agreements on its usage. Trust me, I've been in a relationship for 7 years. I know how money & women work :-p
I wasn't trying to insinuate anything, just point to the actual statistics to blow up your inexperienced statements.

The problem with America isn't because of redistribution of wealth (which I am sure NZ as liberal as it is aligns itself somewhat with). It's because of the rich taking a large massive portion of the pie, which causes the people rot with its core and the rotting continues to expand from within. As the value of the dollar drops due to oil companies, private banks and corporate lobbyists who will continue to keep the house and the senate as far as the people needs as possible, nothing will get easier. Our leaders over the past three decades have been hurting us and patching up the issue, then hurting us again. This is an issue which has been on the rise for years. If the American dollar falls, it will in some way find you....so by all means...run. There are too many countries that have a stake in American society.
P.S.
There is a problem with the people. The division is based on confusion and the people wouldn't be the wiser as to where the manipulation stems from.
