Americans like to hear themselves complain, thats for sure.

everywhere else games ARE expensive.

QFT. I pay 50 Euros for my DS games, more than double you Americans do, stop complaining.

Geez kinda  hateful...

I'm guessing euo folk only have the right to complain.

Sigh.

I don't like to generalize, but you Americans bitch about games prices more than anyone, and you get the cheapest prices along with Japan. Not to mention getting games months before we do, although that has improved recently.

Games are cheaper in the US than in Japan.

Your normal DS game costs 4800 Yen (54$), some games, e.g. Dragon Quest IX has a SRP of 5980 Yen (67$). Wii games are 5800 Yen or 6800 Yen.

Americans should be thankful to get DS games for around 30-40$ and Wii games for 50$.

The difference between games we get on PSN,XBLA and the games we got on the NES is todays games are made for preschoolers. Seriously, the challenge is completely gone. Back in the old days a game like Contra (without the Konami code) would take months of blood sweat and tears to beat. Now games like Shadow Complex make a mockery out of the industry as far as challenge goes.

There was a Contra game released a few years ago, can't remember which one ot was, think it was for PS2, it made the original Contra games look like a barbie game.  I never finished that game, even with the code, and the code only gave you XX number of men (was it 30, or 20) on the first life and the continues only gave 3 men each..

There are a few hard games out there, Demon's Souls was a great game for that (like that hasn't been said before) however unlike some original NES games that when you died, it was a cheap death (and you know they were) everytime you died in DS you are like, "Yeah, that was totally my fault"

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

doesnt most electronic technology get both better and cheaper over the years NOT more expensive... cameras, phones, computers, tvs, etc. all except video games which has stayed basically the same and though ive never considered video games to be an expensive form of entertainment (in comparison to other things like movies, trips, amusement parks etc) im now starting to think that maybe it is when compared to itself.

also any game made by RARE is automatically an amazing game so i think you just dont remember how many amazing days youve had with wrestlemania :P

not just the difficulty but also the complexity of games today have dropped quite a bit. i love the graphics, cinematics and large open worlds newer games have afforded us but the complexity of the gameplay has not kept up. take inindo for instance an rpg on the snes, not only did it have gameplay like youd find in a turn based rpg nowadays but it also had way more party members you could find in the various towns that you had to get to know before theyd join you (or fight you if they didnt like you too much) it also had little strategy army games in it if you led ones city army against another. or goldeneye for n64 where you had various objectives on missions instead of just shooting your way from point A to point B like many fps

Videogames are utterly insignificant when compared to the cost of Warhammer 40,000 (not the videogames but the actual table-top minature wargame the videogames are based on).

True that, I attempted to get into that hobby, after I picked up a couple of armies, I was ready for a new far less expensive hobby...LOL
