Forums - Gaming - The Official Play An Old Game Thread

I've been thinking about making a thread like this for a while and it seems like a fun thing to do.

Once a week crack out that old dusty console of yours and play an old game you own. My definition of old would be anything 10 years or older but if you don't have games that old then that's fine I guess. Anyway just play the game and post here what game your playing and you can talk about anything of the game, the fond memories rushing back, fun game play, great story whatever.

This week I played The Secret of Monkey Island for the first time in 10+ years. The last time I played this I was in grade three and our class had to all play this game, it's just as awesome and funny as ever, I love it!

i'll be playing Karnov for the NES. i'll edit this post with my toughts when i'm done =D

Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.

I was playing Shaq-Fu last night...

Bomberman Hero was played for the first time since 2002....

Has not aged as well as I hoped. :(

I'll give a try at  XCOM : UFO Defense soon

If you want to play an awesome oldie, try to find Midwinter. It's a game from the beginning of the 1990s, a first attempt at 3D where you pilot snowcars, ski and handglide. You have to recruit men and fight with guerilla tactic an enemy militia. Old school time-sucking gem.

I always replay old final Fantasy's 4 I just, Beat 6 2nd time, and X (8 times XD) recently

but besides that.

I played Super Mario World a month ago. And I'm playing Parasite Eve 1 for the first time (I beat too but skippe done for some reason).

Yesterday I started a new game in Secret of Mana. The last time I played it was a few years ago I believe. Monster Hunter Tri has consumed most of my time though, so I probably won't return for a while. When I do return to it, I'll listen to the amazing music and have fun with the battle system. :)

I played FF8 a couple months back

I remember me having a ps1 and my uncle had the demo for the pizza hut and he let me borrow it I always wanted to see what would happen next since the demo ends right after you fight the 2 guys and then a huge monster appears...wait I never got that far I always died when the crap chases you >.>

does the psn version of the first metal gear for playstation count. if not I was playing pokemon red version GBC about a week ago, I was playing a already completed save file so that kind of made it lame unfortunately. as for metal gear that was fun, though I never owned it for my ps1 so this is my first play through the camera angle is really annoying though.

correct me if I am wrong
stop me if I am bias
I love a good civilised debate (but only if we can learn something).
