I've played every major FPS release on consoles for the past three years so yes I've played them.  The only CONSOLE game that I can think of that can come somewhat close to this would be Bad Company 2's maps but personally I think they are smaller than what we are looking at here.  Like I said the proof is that scorpion tank.

On CONSOLE?

have you guys played Battlefield ? Borderlands? Operation Flashpoint? there is lots more too, it doesn't look even close to those , also not to mention the open world maps like RDR and GTA IV ? but those doesn't count since its the whole game.

Wow that is epic.  Can't wait for this game and I used to love Blood Gulch.  Just keeps getting better.

1. Battlefield:  This map is easily same size or bigger than battlefields maps.  AGAIN I don't think you realize that we still are only seeing bits and pieces of this map.  Its that friggin big.

2.  Borderlands.  What does this have to do with anything?  Is borderlands a competitive team vs team objective based FPS game?  no?  Wait its a co-op open world game.  SO again what does this have to do with anything?

3.  Operation Flashpoint.  Pretty big maps, also a crappy game though and still not convinced its much larger than this new map.  

not to mention that the map is completly forgable and litteraly EVERYTHING that you see you can play on which has been confirmed by Bungie other than those mountains.  So no actually you still haven't named me even three CONSOLE competitive FPS games with a bigger map than this.  which makes it EASILY one of the biggest maps. 

Operation flashpoint looked and performed like garbage.

Borderlands was all cut up into chunks of maps and the big open area's were pretty bland.

BC2 I can't say much to. Haven't played it except the demo.

Also something to point out not only is the map itself massive apparently you can forge HUGE objects onto the map to block off certain areas to build still big maps but not truly GIANT if you don't want to play on the whole map.  Evidence for that is the fact that they added and removed this massive wall to block off an area.

Forge in this game is going to be INSANE.

GTA and RDR...is one map...one soldid map...and infact why are they even used to compare gultch?

Flashpoint....very large...but not something that can be used to compare...

Games like KZ2...MW2...WaW...BF2..CS...TF2...KZ3...Black Ops...MoH...those can be used...and frankly sheer size of gultch so far beats them...doesnt mean its better than them...seeing were just comparing SIZE...hehehe
