Forums - Nintendo - Pre-order Metroid: Other M for $30

question on how this works

lets say i buy this and get the $20, now it seems i have to use it within 2 months or something right?

so what if in september i pre-order zelda for the wii?  Will that work?  or not since it doesn't charge you till they ship it?

This is the wording in the e-mail

It is our pleasure to let you know that you have earned $20 toward the purchase of any video game product shipped and sold by Amazon.com until 7/31/2010. To redeem your reward, simply visit http://www.amazon.com/games, add a video game item to your shopping cart, and the discount will be automatically applied.

The promotional credit must be used by July 31, 2010. This offer is subject to Terms and Conditions.

Previously I thought that shipped meant actually shipped out of there warehouse before the date, but after just placing my order and thinking about it some more that doesn't make much sense since you pay like 1-2 days before it actually leaves the warehouse on regular purchases. I think a pre-order would be fine.

Considering the bonus is built into the amazon system (rather than actually giving you a code) you would easily be able to check once Other M ships.

That's pretty nice of ya man! I'll add your sister to the OT list!

Eh, this being the kind of game i need to get day 1 it becomes kinda pointless since i would need the $20 same-day shipping, voiding the differential.

Plus i don't know where i'll be living on the 31st of August yet. I might be in a hotel in Washington, an apartment there, or still at home.

Why do you need it Day One?  In exchange for waiting four or five days, you'll get 40% off on a title that will probably never drop in price.  Patience pays off!

The other part's kind of a deal-breaker, though...

Because i haven't missed a day 1 Metroid since i got into the franchise, except for Fusion (Christmas after) and Zero Mission (never got it). All five Prime-branded games have been mine day one, and this will be no different.
