I'll watch this when it comes out on DVD of course. lol

Yeah, I finally watched this movie as well.

Some good points, is that he hit some of the key areas of the animated series.  Special effects were pretty, and the marial arts wasn't that bad.

The bad points are just too evident.  Someone mentioned Phantom Menace and yeah, the script writing was horrible.  Can't even blame the actors for a wooden performance,  just horrible dialog.  M.Night should not have been the one to write the screenplay.  More importantly, what made the animated series so great was the character development.  It was close to completely gutted in this movie.  There was no connection to any of the characters... maybe except for Iroh.  It sure didn't help that the movie felt rushed and not polished enough for a 1hour 40 min story.

Overall, not anywhere close to being a summer blockbuster.  I'm a huge fan of the series, and was disappointed with this adaptation.  M.Night has had some good movies and screenplays... but this wasn't one of em.

I game.  You game.  We game.

I'm a videogamer, not a fanboy, but have a special place for Nintendo.

It's probably more like the cartoon than that last 3D Avatar movie.  I didn't get the connection at all.

That was annoying, but the worst thing, IMO, was the bending itself. It never felt like it was connected to the martial arts. In the cartoon the elements flow from the martial arts, as if it's just an extension of what they do. In this, they just did random shit into the air then the bending happened afterwards. What the hell, Shyamalan. Did you miss the whole freaking point of the bending in the show being an extension of the person doing it?
