| axumblade said: Excuse my sleep deprived ramblings. What I was trying to say is that I don't think we can really judge them that harshly on the way they have developed for the PS3 thus far. According to VGChartz, they have published 3 PS3 games Disgaea 3, The Last Rebellion (which was only localized for the U.S., not developed by NIS and even NIS apologized for localizing the game) and Trinity Universe, which I have yet to see much of at this point, but I find it nearly impossible to think it's graphically inferior to Disgaea 3 and The Last Rebellion...I'm mainly against the accusation that all they show look like PS2 games since they don't have a major spectrum of releases. That's about the extent of it. I didn't disagree with most of what you said but I don't want to bomb them for graphics that are from old games (disgaea) or games they can't be held that responsible for (The last Rebellion). |
Ah, I see. For what it's worth, I didn't intend for the "look like PS2 games" comment to be a slam against them: I actually consider it to be something of a benefit, since I believe they're currently too much of a niche developer to put out a product that significantly takes advantage of the PS3's graphical capabilities.
Judging from their balance sheet, they need to keep costs down to survive, and more power to them if they can do it on their current budget. My concern is for how long they can keep it up: I see them, and all the other niche developers/publishers, as increasingly being caught between a rock and a hard place when it comes to the console market.
