It's worse. These numbers makes Rising Star Games look good.

Sakura Wars selling next to nothing saddens me a bit but doesn't come as a surprise.

However, the most important thing for every company is gain a profit from what it does. Rising Star Games has said to be very happy with the sales of Marvelous' Wii games in Europe...so,they have had a profit.

Unfortunately,NIS is NOT having something similar to a profit, until now.

Poor NIS.  Ah well... even I am a bit sick of their SRPGs... they're all so similiar...

Are you saying they suck because they're not selling?

Regarding how they remain afloat, it's probably a matter of having very limited print runs, constant ports to new systems, and praying that the next original title doesn't sink them.  They can't count on handhelds anymore, since the PSP is dying and the 3DS costs as much as a Wii game, but they are focusing more on PS3 exclusives which, as far as I can tell, are graphically close to PS2 games.  It'll be interesting to see how much longer they can keep up the juggling act...

OUCH!

Just one question:  If they are in this situtation, why are NIS starting to develop more for HD consoles rather than Wii/DS/PSP?  To me it makes little sense

Erm. Disgaea 3 I'll give you but most of the other titles they've released in the U.S. have merely been published by Nippon Ichi and not developed. The "new IPs" they are working on are supposedly actually new IPs from Nippon Ichi (and a few localizations for games I believe too)

I'm not sure what you're getting at, or where the supposed contradiction lies, to be honest.

Do you see the games on the list? They ARE on the psp/wii. Actually the only stuff they managed to sell well is Disgaea 3 (and there's also zylions of dlc for it too).
