I am shocked (SHOCKED!) that none of the people who were so quick to jump into the other thread to call Milo fake and point fingers and mock Microsoft and Lionhead have avoided this thread.
(Did I mention I am shocked?)

Well, my interest in Kinectimals has dropped. I thought Skittles ate Milo.

It's more natural to beat a 10 year old kid up than regularly meet with one in your bedroom.
Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)
Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!
What the..? Is he confused?
But I'm glad they're working on it still, hopefully it won't be too long before it releases.
| famousringo said: "Project Milo absolutely continues in development." and "not a game that we're planning to bring to market" Aren't necessarily contradictory statements. The AI could be a long way from being a compelling experience, or it might be that Project Milo is meant to be research for a component in some other product rather than a product in its own right. In other words, 'Team Milo' could simply be the name of Lionhead's R&D team looking into speech recognition and AI as it relates to gaming. |
He also said it wouldn't be brought to the market this holiday, which can be interpreted as coming out next year. At the earliest anyway.
This guy needs to make up his mind. Sounds to me like they either felt:
a - saying Milo was not going to be released was being perceived as negative and decided to back peddle
b - Big Pete got a bit miffed given he's talking about this stuff in public soon and they back-peddled a bit
c - the right hand doesn't know what the left is up to
d - all of the above
I have no doubt the ideas and software developed around Milo will definately surface in some form (their animal title for example surely uses some of that stuff) but I'm not pretty suspicous as to what is really going on with this particular title right now and with MS approach to supporting Kinect.
They seem to be trying to have their cake and eat it (not unusual from a PR point of view) with some contradictory statements depending on the message they are trying to convey at each moment - not for hardcore, for hardcore being one such example with this as another.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
lets ask Greenberg again in half an hour, maybe then it releases this year
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Apparently you can also unlock a non-cat species in Kinectimals.
