You should let him play any Uncharted for a couple of hours, then show him the first hour and a half of GOW III and Heavy Rain, and lend him Demon Souls, Valkyria Chronicles and InFamous. If that doesn't do it, then it's a lost war.
If he likes all the FPS crap on the 360, and the squeekers and screamers on Xbox Live, the idea of paying for online play...
We don't want him on the PSN.

Ps3 does not need people to be converted in if it is really that good... Is it necessary to bash xbox 360 by saying that it doesnt have enough games? You should get banned from insulting xbox 360... Well as if you will get in trouble anyway lol.

not once did i say the x360 had no games, i was only honest about his usuage, how is that classified as trolling, it's not llike i posted it in the MS Forum, besides there was a warning before you entered, this is me asking for advice from other ps3 users, and like they said no flaming and using logic, lending him games may be the best way to do it, that way he can see for himself without me saying anything

Yeah looks like that is the best option that way the ps3 will talk for itself, I won't have to say anything.

Well, you could also tell him the differences between the PS3 controller and the Xbox 360 controller.
The PS3 controller (DualShock 3) has rumble AND the Sixaxis function, while the Xbox 360 controller only has rumble.
The PS3 controller has a built in battery that lasts around 35 hours and when the battery is about to be empty, you just connect it via usb to the PS3 and keep playing while it's charging, while the Xbox 360 controller doesn't have a built in battery, which means you will have to buy your own batteries (like the ones used in remote controllers) and you will also need to buy rechargeable ones and a battery charger... and when the batteries are about to be empty, you have to go and look for more batteries that have to be charged (so you must always remember to leave some batteries charging), get the batteries, open the controller, take out the empty batteries, place the charged batteries in the controller, close the controller again and keep playing.
The PS3 controller is connected to the PS3 via bluetooth.
The PS3 has built-in bluetooth. You need a bluetooth adapter for the Xbox 360
With the PS3, you can use almost any bluetooth headset you have, it doesn't need to be a Sony headset, while on the Xbox 360, you need to buy Xbox 360 headsets.
You can put any HDD inside the PS3, while on the Xbox 360, you need to buy HDDs that were made specifically for it.
When you move the PS3 with a disc inside, the disc will be fine, just like the PS1, PS2 or Wii, nothing happens. But When you move the Xbox 360 with a disc inside, it scratches it. So he has to be careful and put his console where nobody can move it by mistake and always remember to take out the discs if he, for whatever reason, needs to move the console.
The Blu-Ray storage capacity allows games to include extra stuff, uncompressed audio that, in conjunction with a nice home theater, has better sound quality than compressed audio... and it also allows for less compressed video (like CGI cutscenes) which means those cutscenes will look better and have less artifacts than if they were more compressed, which results in a better experience.
And also, tell him that if his current Xbox 360 is gathering dust, when he buys the slim, only the design changes and it has built-in Wi-Fi... and is also "Kinect Ready" :P. But the games and every function it had will still be the same as his old Xbox 360, so he will probably not use that one either... and he would have "wasted" his money if he doesn't even use it :S
Those are some of the points I think you missed, there may be more, but I don't remember right now.
- PSN game sharing (in my opinion one of the coolest PS3 features - this can save you so much money if you have at least one friend with another PS3)
- the PS3 is not only a Blu-Ray-player - it's one of the best Blu-Ray-players because it's so future-proof. Just think of BD Live or 3D Blu-Rays - whenever there is a new Blu-Ray feature, PS3 owners get it very soon while owners of "normal" Blu-Ray-players usually have to buy a new Blu-Ray player in order to be able to use that feature
- PS3 is using standard components instead of ridiculously overpriced offical Microsoft stuff. If you want a different hard drive, you can buy just any standard 2,5" SATA hdd. If you want a wireless headset, you can buy just any standard Bluetooth headset (or use the one you already own). If you want a mouse or keyboard for web browsing, you can buy just any standard Bluetooth or USB keyboard or mouse. You can even use standard USB gamepads!
- controller with builtin rechargeable battery, great digital-pad, (almost) all buttons are pressure-sensitive, acceleration sensor
- great multimedia capabilities
- web browser
- XMB does not look as childish as the 360 dashboard
- twice the processing power as the 360
- trophys are superior to the simple concept of a "gamerscore"
- no region lock
- the games that are currently considered the best looking console games of all (e.g. Killzone 2, Uncharted 2 etc.) are all PS3 exclusives
- builtin bluetooth
So let me get this straight:
You have a friend who owns an older model 360, and it's gathering dust because I would assume he's not playing the current games available.
He was considering getting a PS3 to play what's on the PS3, but now that a slimmer 360 is out, he wants that instead? Are the 360 games that he's currently not playing going to magically get a boost in quality? Forget all the other arguments (Bluray, wifi, graphics, etc). If your friend does this, he's buying a $300 paperweight.
That's like if the Wii came out with a slimmer model right now, I'd go out and buy it just cause it's slimmer...but I don't ever play Wii games
