my friend was uber hyped to get a ps3 until he found out about the new x360 slim, but his x360 has been sitting around for a while now, and I intend to give him a lecture on why he should still buy ps3 over a x360, since I live in the UK, It's your job to help me make the best case for his conversion.

here is my argument so far

Also I plan to show him lots of trailers of Infamous 2 and Killzone 3, any more suggestions and what is the cheapest bundle in the UK at the moment, I only look in Game and Asda lol.

Finally do you think it's a good idea to lend him my ps3 so he can see for himself in his own time, maybe this may be the best stratedgy:P:P

Why exactly do you want him to have a PS3? If he wants the 360S more, let him take that.

PSN doesn't have cross game voice chat.

If he isn't getting a 3DTV, 3D games don't really matter.

Graphical "prowess" in PS3 exclusives should never, ever be a reason for choosing a PS3 over another console. The games, not the graphics should be the deciding feature. If he wants to play God of War III because the God of War games are awesome, then that's great.

It's fine that you want to show him why the PS3 is worth getting, but no need to mislead him.

Maybe he wants to play that dancing game, or rather, be able to answer yes when a girl asks him is he has dance central, and maybe hes current 360 is an arcade, ... no, all games should run on the arcade right? Well then, maybe he just wants to support the US economy, ... no wait, they are being made in china ... I know, the reason why he didn't play he's xbox360 lately is that it didn't have a wifi connection, and now finally there is a possibility to have that for just 300 dollars... no wait, he could have that for like $30 for an wifi card  for the  old one, and a hdd for like 100$, still cheaper than 300... Well there you have it, he's a follower of MS.

3. I was not just talking about graphical prowess some of the physics and the brilliant gameplay in uncharted 2 and GOW III are showcases for ps3 power.

4. I am not misleading him I am telling him the truth about ps3, I will actually show him what the games look on my ps3 as well so, basically it will be up to him to choose, with hime previously being a ps owner i think he will atleast appreciate the varety reason alone...

no that is not the case he has it wired up via ethernet, and trust me he has been a former ps fan, but he may not change his mind, he does have his own mind, what about the part where i said he was hyped for ps3 did you miss??

I got that, what I don't get is how did he change he's mind because of the xboxs, especially since he has one already? And since he doesn't even play it that much anymore, the reason for wanting one is not practical/logical (that is prevent a rrod or conserve energy/less noise - well, maybe less noise), but illogical, he just wants one.

i know his reason for wanting one is down to the actual way it looks, right now even i am struggling to understand why he want's it so bad when he does not even play on the one he has, to me it seems you all are trying to convince me not to show him how far ps3 has come along, why are u afraid, like i said he has his own mind, when he sees and plays the games let him make his own mind up

3. That's a part of the graphical prowess. The gameplay should be compelling, and should be what you're showing him. Graphics don't matter for shit.

4. Sorry, misleading was probably the wrong expression, but some of the things you wanted to highlight seemed like a bad choice to me. You should be showing compelling gameplay, so I would show games that are unique to the PS3 as well (hack'n'slash and shooting aren't unique). Flower, MAG, Heavy Rain, stuff like that.

re-read my 1st post again where I mention wide variety of games Heavy Rain get's a mention, and trust me I will be showing him this and Uncharted 2, so sorry to dissapoint you.

Also Uncharted 2 is not just a shooter, it is unique in it's own way it's not all run and gun, you actually have to solve  puzzle's and platform as well, also it does have brilliant gameplay, a definitive game to show him without a doubt, IT'S WHY IT GOT SO MANY AWARDS DO YOU WANT TO ARGUE WITH THAT AS WELL??

Relax, all I'm saying is that you shouldn't be showcasing games because of their graphics, but because of their gameplay. If the gameplay is the reason you want to show him a game, then go ahead. 

And you don't have to lecture me on what Uncharted 2 is, I platinum'ed it, I know what it is.
