Nice start for Demon's Souls considering how much later it was released than Asia (17 months ago) and the US (9 months ago), clearly not everybody imported. SCEE really screwed up by thinking White Knight Chronicles was the better choice.

2D Mario has never been that huge in Europe as console gaming was pretty marginal before PS1. That is probably one pretty big reason.

SO Nintendo’s ‘Super Mario Galaxy 2’ is down 42% and still the top selling game in the UK.  Software fell quite a bit, it seems.

UK != Europe.

In the other countries it's still up there.

Even if that were the case, it wouldn't explain why the Wii version is already getting beat by the DS version in many areas (unless those are bundles?). The difference between the reception of the game in Japan/US and the rest of the world is pretty shocking - you'd think the DS version would have been indicative of its potential, but...
