Will LEGO Harry Potter Wii have a better first week than Crackdown 2?

in the states reach will sell double than GT5 at least. If both of them sold the same split should be like this
america/europe/japan
GT5: 3/6/1
Reach: 7/3/0.1

And GT5 only manages to get 3.5k more pre-orders even though it has a confirmed release date!! Maybe most people still don't believe that its releasing this year. |
Or maybe most people just don't care. Shooters are all the rage now as far as the mainstream is concerned. I know that by reading through this Sony fanboy heavy website that you'd think GT might actually be more anticipated than Halo Reach, but I assure you, it's not. You won't be seeing any GT cups at Burger King. You won't see any GT action figures or merchandising. You won't see half as many commercials for GT as you will for Reach and the bottom line is that in the biggest market in the world (NA) we love us some shooters.
Safe to say either of this fall's contenders for fps supremacy would be happy with 295k pre-orders in week 2. Thanks for this OP. Not having comments on the article or feature main page is not entirely a good thing. It got trollish sometimes especially on the weekly nos. but now you can't speak to the author/creator except by pm. We'll adjust.

| Hyruken said: You need to update the GT5 release date which is november 2nd which is 18 weeks. With these pre-orders they include over a week from E3 when the date was confirmed. Interestingly if you put them in order of how many were pre-ordered in that week GT5 actually would be 2nd to last. I wonder if those saying GT5 will outsell Reach still think so |
This is a Aaron Greenburgish comment...
America =/= World
And not many casual gamers watch E3 press conferences....pre-orders should pick up soon.

So GT5 has poor pre-orders because casual's don't watch E3? How does that work?
This is about american pre-orders not the world. But if GT5 does not sell at least 1m in US in first week you can't seriously expect it to make up that difference outside of US?

America =/= World thing was for the GT5 vs Reach argument....anyone who expected GT5 to outsell Reach in America needs to go to an insane asylum.
Yes, its about American pre-orders, but GT5 outselling Reach is a worldwide thing.
That said, I believe that Reach will sell better than GT5 worldwide...simply because Halo has expanded as a franchise, while numerous delays have hurt the GT5 hype severely.
I don't suppose everyone who is looking forward to GT5 know it has a solid release date yet.
GT5 is NOT gonna sell 1 million first week in America. Correct me if I'm wrong (too lazy to check and confirm) even GT4 didn't sell 1 million FW in America.
Edit : 70k pre-orders with nearly 5 months to go is poor ? Compared to CoD, Halo, maybe....but its not that shockingly bad.
GT5 will do well, but Halo Reach > MW2 (360) in terms of sales Worldwide.
