Btw, my game looks like this (and yes it's my character): http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj20/xillyx/FFXIV-halfbuffer-laptop.png

I'd rather sacrifice some image quality for some smooth performance. Imo, it was pretty much unplayable before.

No offense but EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! lol

Mind you that's about as low as you can go in order to get it to run on an older computer.  On higher settings the game is pretty good looking.

I got to spend more time with it this weekend and while I still despise the UI, I don't think it's as bad as the open beta was.  There seems to be more to do and when the game is on, it's fun.  I encountered one bug where me and one other person couldn't get through a door while everyone else could, there was an hour there where pretty much everyone was getting the "already engaged" bug, and a LS mate couldn't join groups at all, but it seems to be getting better.

If they get rid of the awful lag in the UI, I might warm up to it more.  As it stands right now, I press a button an a minimum 1 second later the action happens.  It's plain stupid.

Well would you rather play with "pwetty" graphics and have unplayable lag instead? Lol, besides it's not that bad, I've played with games with much worse graphics.

The game looks amazing on my fiance's computer. It's so much better than my laptop. When the PS3 version comes out, he will play on it and I'll probably play on his computer so it's temporary. X3

i hate crafting. all i want to do is keep doing missions. but, then I end up having to repair my armor and that cost a lot. plus i'm running out of anima.

anyone know where i can find a list of story mission guides? like the ones for your home nations.

I haven't used any anima yet, I just run everywhere.  The thing I'm running out of is Guardians Favor and I have no idea how to get that back.

Holy friggin jaggies..

Anyhow, game is a beast when it comes to specs...

I have a "decent" PC - well ok maybe not anymore - I did build it like 2 years ago

However I even have all my stuff turned down.. may have been server lag for first couple of days and maybe I can put some stuff up, currently running with everything on LOW with a 768 resolution :P

Quad Core 2.7Ghz
Windows 7 64-bit
Radeon 4850
4G Ram

Tempted to buy a 5850..

On the topic of crafting - I am dabbling in everything, first thing I did was run around and buy every crafting tool so I could do anything I wanted

Botany and Carpentry are my highest at like 10 and 9, fishing, BS, are like 5, everything else is 2-3

Currently just parked in Limsa and fish for skillups/exp as you just need to use 2 keys (down arrow and enter) to level up fishing and physical level lol

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

So...

Just pulled the trigger and ordered a 5870 :)

Hoping that My Q6700 is enough with that card to run it on max settings.. else I smell a mobo/cpu upgrade in my future

So, I think I just saw Leviathan. I uploaded it myself.

Spoilers ahead: Mission - Never the Twain Shall Meet

http://www.eorzeapedia.com/wiki/en/Main_Page

Underneath Chat, go to Storylines & Battles -> Quests -> Your city. So far, it's the only one that I've seen thats accurately updated. Unless someone else has a better site? XIV Core Wiki copies off of it.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.
Proud pre-orderer of 2 PS4's and an Xbox One.

Currently Playing: Dark Souls II, South Park
Playstation 4: MGS V GZ, Killzone: Shadow Fall, NBA 2k14.

Nah Eorzeapedia is the site to go, imo. People update it frequantly, and if you find out something yourself you can add it to the site.

Well I'm phys level 16, conjurer 12, alchemy 10 and leathercraft 7. I'm not taking more jobs for now. Conjurer kicks major butt, I was able to take on a red tagged dodo by myself. >:3
