Okay, so my new desktop computer has this on it:

NVIDIA 260 GTX 1.7GB (memory)
Intel i7 860
Blu-Ray RE
8 GB RAM
1920x1080 Resolution on Digital HD (which makes my 1920x1200 desktop backgrounds and videos look like utter crap, too)

I scored 2088 on the benchmark on the highest setting (1920x1080). I forget what I got on the 1280x720 resolution. The Beta installer is coming across an error with installing due to virus scanning, so I may have to uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials 2 Beta to install the FFXIV Beta.

Applications for the FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test have been temporarily suspended.

I'm the unluckiest person on earth. F*ck.

Yeah, I read that too I had uninstalled the Beta of FFXIV because I never got the registration code so I got fed up with waiting for two days... I was like, "screw it, I'll wait until the game is released," but I still cannot wait.

I have a question, though. On the FFXIV ZAM channel, the abilities that the website has listed...are those the only class abilities us gamers are able to use just for the Beta? Or will there be more later on? I cannot believe that magic in the game is considered an ability... I was hoping that this game would be kind of like FFTA and FFTA2, in which you equip an item to learn an ability or magic, and once you become aquainted with that weapon, you are able to use that ability or magic that the weapon granted you with.

So, I'm downloading the version updates for the open beta, and it is taking forever. the progress bar is not even moving. I left it overnight to download and woke up this morning and it is only at 20%

The upload speed is high but the download speed is dead. I tried using utorrent but that was unsuccessful. Any faster way to do this? Perhaps I did something wrong with utorrent? Any step by step help would do.

Finally got in. Too bad I don't have a suitable machine where I am right now, I'll have to wait until tuesday. Argh.

Apparently the new patch today speeded up the UI a little more. That's great news. Also they added a new server: Saronia.

I also have a beta key, but i'm not using it. Lol.
