The thing about Zelda was that enemies were never really a threat just an annoying little obstacle.

Not to nitpick, but I'm guessing you never played the NES games!

What were your impressions of the game overall, by the by?  Are you looking forward to it more now that you tried it, or less?

P.S. Welcome to the site!

Crap I completely forgot about this post. My bad.

Lol yea I did play the old NES and SNES versions though I never beat em. But to be fair all games back then were brutal. I was mainly referring to 3D Zelda enemies.

So my impressions.....I'm sold. My position completely shifted. I'll be honest I was disappointed with just about everything I saw during the conference in the game. The art style, the gameplay, and the explanation of the controls. Lucky for me I got to actually get my hands on it. When Miyamoto said WM was used for aiming and to pick items out of the wheel I thought that was a terrible idea.

When I played it though it felt really smooth and natural. It was great! The visuals were also amazing in person. So yes after playing it Im definitely looking forward to this game. The bad part is most people didn't have the opportunity to play this game so a lot of the speculation and hate is gonna be based off false opinion and speculation. So I see a lot of negativity surrounding this game until its actually released and people see for themselves.

I don't know how many people have noticed btw but it might not be the sword beam like old Zelda games but link can shoot circular wind beamish things out of his sword. That was awesome. Aiming with WM is also confirmed to be optional.

Fuck this is way longer than I wanted it to be...

PS. Im not a noobie Ive been around since 08 =P

That's all good to hear (although I'll be sticking with Motion Plus to aim: Archery was awesome in Resort!).

And if you've been around so long, why don't you post more?!  You've been here longer than I have!

Of course it won't be easy for anyone who is left-handed... Sorry, guys, but I'm still disappointed with this fact.

What you don't realize is that Skyward Sword doubles as the newest "non-game" from Nintendo: "Ambidextrous Training (train your left hand in just hours a day!)."

I lol'd. It really sucks that they aren't accomodating left handed people. 10% of people are left handed, for normal Zelda game sales, that is 40 thousand people at least who are being forced to adjust.

Or "forced" to boycott the game. Sadly, I'm not buying it until I'm able to play with my good hand.

So you played TP on the GCN? I don't know how hard it is to add a left handed option....but obviously it presents some major problems. I don't think Nintendo would remove an optional left handed mode without good reason.

My only problem with aiming now is that rapid firing is pretty much gone but firing an arrow feels so damn good I can live without it.

Well I've had a few other accounts. 2.0 turned the site to shit imo so I left and now I'm back. The parts I cared about are cleaned up although the community definitely isn't the same...I don't post much because most of the topics don't interest me and I can't make my own thread. Stupid new rule.

Yep, I have TP on GameCube. However, I've played the Wii version a few years later and found out the gameplay wasn't affected: I only needed not to get confused with the hand-change. But the story is different with Skyward Sword.
