Logitech wheels have screw clamps which will work up to a 2 inch thick table. this includes the gear shift. One problem with the g27 wheel is you can't get tighten the clamp screws tight enough to keep the wheel from moving. I fix this by going to Walmart and buying kitchen cabinet liner. Put this liner under both the wheel and gear shift stops any movement. another option is to hard mount them on to the table.
In most cases Logitech wheels are plug and play when it comes to PS3 and PS2 games. One problem though with G27 (came out before GT5P) is the game doesn't recongnise the paddles in GT5P. (from what I've read you could use paddles with the older G25 wheel) I have no doubt this will be corrected in GT5.
I personally use the paddles more than the gear shift. I've got an Obutto racing cockpit with a Buttkicker.
One of the advantage DFGT wheel has over the G27 is all the button are on the steering wheel while most of the G27 buttons are on the gear shift. G27 has more quiet ans smoother wheel and 10 time better pedals. The most disappointing thing with DFGT as with any other $100 wheels are the cheap pedals.
