Everytime I do a search it seems to only search the usernames, not the actual threads themselves.

I guess you mean gamrConnect. I was wondering this yesterday.

I don't think it can be done, yet.  I had to go into my own profile and view all of my own posts until I found a thread.  The process is very slow and tedious.  Hopefully, they'll make it easier in the future.  Even threads that are a few days old are extremely hard to find!

Did you post in it? You could just look in threads you've posted in.

you haven't posted anything in it so I am going to assume you didn't find it.  Or of course you did find it and you were just taking something from it.
