I was just wondering whether Nintendo has plans to shift the Pokemon Black and White from the DS to the 3DS.

Wouldn't Nintendo benefit from it?

It has been announced for the DS and I doubt they're going to stop now.

Wait for 6th gen.

Black and White? probably not.

Since the game is pretty deep into completion, I doubt they'll suddenly change the entire engine and start from scratch.

6th gen is more likely to be the first 3DS pokemon generation.

I thought they were making Black and White for 3DS and just saying that it was for DS because Nintendo didn't announce 3DS.

Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow were for the original Gameboy/Gameboy Pocket, even though IIRC the GBC was already out.

Although I'm sure a new Pokémon game would help move hardware, I'm guessing Nintendo prefers to sell to the largest install base possible.

I still haven't finished Soul Silver, I'm embarrassed to say.  (Soul Silver is fantastic btw, imho).  Gotta force myself to put Peggle down so I can finish it (damn PopCap and their addictive games!)

I expect it to be cross compatible like Pokemon Gold was.

But 6th Generation will be too far away!

I was hoping to see Fire Blasts, Solarbeams, etc coming out of the screen and into your face lol.

But doesn't matter. As long as I can play Black and White on the 3DS it's no biggie. Just thought Pokemon Black and White would be great launch titles for the 3DS.

I think Nintendo wants to go Full 3D with the next pokemon, so with B&W they introduce the future direction of the series.
