should've made it a poll question

Are You Kidding???

GT5 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Need for Speed

Both, quality and sales.

I don't know which will sell more, but I've always been a NFS fan.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

You could have posted "What will the ratio between NFS 360 and PS3 be" given how much GT5 is going to damage NFS sales on PS3 (what are they thinking releasing so close?!)

Gt5 will easily sell 10million ltd - doubt need for speed will top 4mil across all platforms

Gt5 is already 5th in Game's (Uk) pre order list!!!

Yep, you've just shown us!

Last good NFS was 3rd (y 98), up from that it was shit shit shit (Shift wasn't bad, but that's one out of like 6 or 7 games). The newly announced NFS is a "successor" to the 3rd one, so maybe, just maybe the NFS series can get out of it's shittyness after all those years.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

They belong to different branches of the racing genre, so it's hard to objectively compare them. NFS has always been an arcade racer with very few, if none, simulation parameters. GT on the other hand is all about simulation. Even it's Arcade mode is pure simulation.

That being said, the last NFS console game to get a similar rating as a GT console game was Hot Pursuit 2 back in the PS2. And that's comparing it to GT4, the lowest rated GT console game. (If you want to use portables too, NFS has a game with massively low ratings and the only GT portable game has average reviews).

So while to you NFS might be the better series (there's nothing wrong about this), to state as a fact that NFS is a better series is a bit off the mark and untrue.

Prostreet and  Undercover may have been underwhelming, but the other three games released on the 360 have been pretty good.  Nothing ground breaking, but fun none the less.  I just recently started playing Shift and I have found it to be pretty good balance between arcade and sim racing (I personally don't care for pure sim racers).

OT

I have no intentions of buying GT5 but it will outsell NFSHP2 at a ratio of 2:1 minimum.  There was a time it would have been closer, but the NFS name has lost a lot of it's luster.
